Yes, I was reading The Third Reich At War by Richard J. Evans, and he describes German settlers on Polish land after the Nazi invasion. He tells how one settler shot a Polish boy for taking apples from ‘his’ orchard. Which land does that remind us of, today? 🤔

I'm not any anti Jewish person... but I'm anti zionist. But the politicians always say it's the immigrants that are the problem. Yet these zionists who may have business in america send the money to Israel, not spending it in america. If they are, for example, a pedophile they can run to Israel to avoid the laws in other countries. They can go and take land from the Palestinians via gunpoint and jump back on the plane to america and charge another israeli rent for this property. They can also get cheap Palestinians labour whose labour laws fall outside of any laws. By law they can loan each other money but not charge interest. I'm sure that's in the Holy book😆 so how exactly do they operate inside the laws of fair competition that everyone else has to obide by.

This has all been a PTSD experience for me from the moment Bibi and the Jets (why isn't he known as Beni) began their turkey shoot in Gaza. I left Derry in early 1970 for Australia as an almost 11-year-old suffering a degree of trauma since October 1968 and especially after the Battle of the Bogside, August 1969, which resulted in me and my mates having to climb over the barricades on the way to the Christian Bros. Primary School on the Leckey Road, deep in the heart of Free Derry. It was quite a shock to come back to Derry after a month's holiday by the sea in Donegal to find a significant part of the CBD in ruins. But that didn't stop myself and my mate Dennis Heaney* from spending a couple of hours of the Sunday evening before school started again, wantonly smashing the extant windows of the ruined business until we'd finally had our fill of the sound of breaking glass. Oddly I enjoyed my last term at the Brothers, probably because I had a lay teacher and our class was focused on the 11+ the preparation for which I really enjoyed, but I am (or was) quite good at that sort of thing. Anyhow, early February '70, my classmates bore me aloft on my last day of school and to all intents and purposes I had left Northern Ireland. That evening we left Derry to stay in Greencastle before visiting a variety of relatives in Ireland then departing for England to say our farewells to my father's Catholic Anglo-Irish brothers and sister, the family of two Irish doctors who moved to Lancashire in the 1920s. Then we were on a ship to Australia. I had it so easy in comparison to this ongoing crime of the century, but we're white and the English were copping a lot of shame, especially from the Yanks who are as Irish as the rest of us in the English-speaking colonies, for what they did in the more distant past and were doing to us during the Troubles. Anyhow, thanks for your clear eye on the madness and hypocrisy. *Dennis Heaney: murdered in cold blood on the streets of Derry in front of many witnesses in broad daylight in June 1978 by a couple of ENGLISH hired guns aka soldiers and the rotten cs were exonerated, look it up.

Tadhg, I’ve lived in Ireland for several years and the experience was terrific. We made great friends, there. My son was educated in your schools, and I appreciate Irish history and the atrocities the Irish have endured under British rule in a way I could never have before that experience. But, I also worked on archeological sites in Israel and spent considerable time there, too. As a result, I understand Israel far beyond news headlines and emotional sound bites. Your message comes from a good place, but I think you have some gaps in your knowledge. And, I hope that if you, or anyone else in the comments, really cares you'll be open-minded enough to consider the following. There has always been a Jewish presence in that territory, long before the Arab conquest and Islamization of the Middle East, Iberian Peninsula, and North Africa. Jews are more than a religion, but a distinct ethnic group that has survived many invaders and colonizers: the Canaanites, Egyptians, Philistines, Assyrians, Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, Crusades, Turks, British, and whoever else I'm forgetting. And, you may find it interesting that recent studies confirm the genetic association between ancient Canaanites with modern Jews (tested from bones dug from Canaanite graves). Under Roman occupation, the very name “Palestinian” was used by Romans to strip Jews of their heritage and erase Jewish cultural identity. It was an insult to Jews that referred to the Philistines, an ancient enemy of the Jews. And, this colonizing practice has been common in all parts of the world. In 1935, for instance, Iran restored its name from Persia, given by the Greeks, back to Iran in a conscious reference to the ancient ancestry of the Iranians. The key is that after WWI and through WWII, Western Powers, the League of Nations, and the UN began to decolonize defeated empires using the legal principle called Uti Possidetis Juris. This legal principle returned colonized territories to their previous “geopolitical boundaries” and indigenous peoples. In the Middle East, this meant deconstructing the Ottoman Empire into Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Israel through a series of “mandates”. And, of Israeli Jews today, more than half are from families with lineages that never left the Middle East while the other half are Diaspora Jews. Yes, I agree that Palestinians also have some legitimate claims, but the story is so much more complex than “gifting to colonizers” and your Irish parallel doesn't fit. But most importantly, Tadhg, your videos stoke unnecessary division through an oversimplified historical account that won’t help either group find a solution and lasting peace. Thanks in advance for your respectful consideration.
@lorily94598 ай бұрын
Well said and completely agree.
@appaatemomo-freePalestine8 ай бұрын
Zionists came to Palestine with the express intent of colonizing it, as decided in 1897 at the first Zionist Congress. When we speak about Zionists, we're not speaking about Jews who were already living in Palestine, because they were Palestinian. The early Zionist movement discussed at length what to do with the native Palestinians, because they would need to be removed somehow to make way for a Jewish majority state. This was before the end of the Ottoman Empire. The British Mandate facilitated the process of colonization for the Zionists, but it was not the inciting factor. Palestine was a name first used in the late Bronze age. It was not a Roman invention. Jews are not as distinct an ethnicity as you might think, which is probably why DNA testing is banned in Israel. But none of this truly matters, because there is absolutely no excuse for colonization, occupation, or ethnic cleansing.
@edwardbrady58438 ай бұрын
The problem is zionism and the Apartheid and on going genocide of the Palestinian people, most Israelis have no DNA links to Palestinian lands.
@sheilaghk63507 ай бұрын
A lot of Jews in Palestine converted to Islam over the years. I'm sure if you tested their DNA you would find that israel is killing their cousins.
@washerdryer34665 ай бұрын
Ireland’s Minister for External Affairs, Sean McBride, shortly after the founding of the State of Israel: “Our common suffering from persecution and certain similarities in the histories of the two races create a special bond of sympathy and understanding between the Irish and Jewish peoples.” Something happened since the foundation of Israel back then, when Israel had Ireland's more or less full support. Maybe you might try and examine what happened rather than dismissing opinion as resulting from oversimplification and inability to grasp complexity.

The enemy has never even paid reparation costs amounting to millions of dollars, and not to mention the fact that Tunisia knows a thing or two about injustice as well due to its history with France and Ottoman Turkey and was the first country in the Muslim world to raise against internal injustice and build a democracy in 2010.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_featuring_the_Irish_Republican_Army a pretty decent list of films and TV shows that depict the IRA. I take it you're referring to the Provisional IRA? Anyhow, based on this list I think they get a more positive representation in "Hollywood" movies than you suggest with "The Devils Own" being a particularly egregious example where, when he's not murdering people, Brad Pitt murders the Irish accent too!
@alpha_studios9809 ай бұрын
@@davidmundowyahoo7839 This compilation pales in comparison to the broader narrative crafted by Hollywood. It's almost inherent to witness portrayals of groups like the IRA, Muslims/Taliban, Cubans, and Native Americans as the designated "enemies." A recent example is "In the Land of Saints and Sinners," which I watched a few days ago. The film depicts IRA freedom fighters as intellectually sluggish and directionless in their lives, creating a disturbing portrayal.

Excellently said. Sadly, many more are fighting these same battles but the media ignores them. it’s a struggle taking place in parts of Africa, South America, Central America, certain populations in Australia and the United States, India, Ukraine, and Cuba.. Human beings are being killed in the millions (sometimes indirectly by creating starvation and chaos) by so-called Western “civilized’’ governments.

Dearest Palestine, I know it's been a while since I sent my last letter, but know that I never stop thinking of you, I hope you are better. For the last time we talked, you broke down and cried, you shocked me with stories of how your children had died. You sent me a photo and your face it had aged, but that's to be expected when you're abused and rampaged. Your eyes, they were bruised and your cheeks, they were scarred, how could they treat you with such disregard? It took me a moment to gather myself, as I glanced from your photo to the one of my mum on the shelf. For she had the same look - that dead-eyed, blank stare, for her world too had crumbled down with the same death and despair. Our occupiers still hold onto a part of our land, they still scare our families and put innocent men on remand. We've seen the same tactics deployed by those who oppress, they hurt you like they've hurt us. Oh Lord, what a mess. You stand tall for the rest of your kids, so loyal and true. The freedom they seek seems so far from world view. When the world covers their eyes and withdraws their hand, i want you to know you've got friends in Ireland. I want you to know, my oldest true friend, In times of great pain, on us you can depend. We want to help set you free from oppression and pain, we'll shout from the rooftops, we'll go against the grain! For you are our brothers, our sisters and our allies, a similar struggle for years, we both did empathise. I know you're in pain and you bare scars on your skin, but this is temporary, my dear friend, for justice and freedom, you will win. Lots of love, Ireland

"South Africa launches *case at UN court accusing Israel of genocide"* was published by The Guardian *the same day you commented:* "Genocidal intent is assumed to be the most difficult element to prove, but *Israelis in charge of prosecuting this conflict have made a plethora of statements that easily prove the requisite intent to ‘destroy in whole or in part’ the Palestinian population in Gaza,”* said Susan Akram, director of the international human rights clinic at Boston University. As examples, Akram pointed to Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant’s reference to *Palestinians in Gaza as “human animals”* and Israeli army Major General Ghassan Alian’s subsequent statement that: *“Human animals must be treated as such.* There will be *no electricity and no water* [in Gaza], *there will only be destruction.* You wanted hell, *you will get hell.”* Iva Vukušić, assistant professor in international history at Utrecht University, said: *“With over 21,000 dead in Gaza,* [the South Africans] believe it is time to let a court look at what is going on. The Genocide Convention allows them to do that, because states, globally, don’t have a lot of places to ‘go to’ in these kinds of situations, especially with the Security Council being as polarised and dysfunctional.” so, *again,* horrific hypocrisy from *part* of the group that inspired the *phrase* "genocide" *(not* the 1st or only to suffer from the *concept)* turning around to use the same tactics doesn't transform using the *appropriate & applicable* term into "appropriation" unfortunately it's *not* uncommon for survivors to turn around & use the same tactics they suffered against others, *especially* if they've been able to weaponize their victimization to excuse their actions which israel has done an *exceptional* job at this all highlights & reinforces how incredible the irish spirit is, imo - epitomized perhaps by young bobby sands' words before he sacrificed himself hunger striking during the troubles, "our revenge will be the laughter of our children" israel & their apologist like you, @@yvonnelee3880, could learn a *lot* from the irish so maybe try watching more of tadhg's videos & actually thinking about what he says even if you're really just concerned with hasbara try reflecting on its purpose vs reality ✌️
