This is such a f****ing good mix along with the True Love alt mix, I think some instruments need to be brought out (like the piano) and mixed differently but overall I'd say this captures a unique feeling the album never had before, the one we have right now is clean cut and lacks the distorted & broken theme Elliott wanted due to mismanagement by the family. It was a tough time for them so I get that, but it's been a long time since his departure now. I can't believe it's only a year away until it's been 20 years since he died and all the resources are literally just lying around for a deluxe remaster edition or whatever they could call it. There's still a good bit behind the scenes they have chosen not to work on or release. Elliott wanted this to be a double album (his own version of The Beatles White Album) originally, they had 28 - 30 songs culled for the album by the time he had died. David McConnell who had worked on the album with Elliott the longest (2 years) told the family he knew best about it's direction. David said the family ignored him despite going out of his way to offer help for free of charge, they chose Rob Schnapf and some others (he mixed Figure 8 and XO). What's interesting though is that Rob and Elliott got into a fight around the time Figure 8 had been finished, similar to how he didn't like people making decisions for his music in Heatmiser he felt that Rob and the production team had been making plans for the album he didn't necessarily agree with, this coupled on with his drug use led to them breaking their friendship. All this ended with him writing a letter to Dreamworks Records saying if they didn't release him from their contract he would kill himself. He said he never wanted Rob to touch anything he made again. The whole point of this album was to make something original and unchained from his decision making, it wasn't just another clean studio record. This album was meant to be experimental, raw, psychedelic and I think everything I ever wanted from Elliott Smith. I'm happy parts of it arrived, but man, if only they could just get David back in there and make this thing properly. Apparently he still owns the masters to this day, including mixes of A Passing Feeling and Shooting Star (which was supposed to be the album opener) that start in mono sound first but then at some point they switch to stereo. Elliott and David even cried a bit when they heard it for the first time.

I really like the mixes elliott made before he died they had a lot rawer feel, not as finished feel but emphasises the jagged and broken sound he was trying to capture. The unbalanced backing vocals synths and guitars floating in and out.

Repping the 90s alt youth uniform; hand made jorts, black boots (are those vans Elliott has on?) Simple shirt advertising nothing, OH! AND the aquamarine hair! Three Boys that were more typical Portland you'd be hard pressed to find. From this picture, at least.

There's something haunting about the harmony vocals being so high in the mix, like were overcome by ghosts.

What “vow of faith” is “The Wolfman” [Elliott Smith] talking about that he made during the intro of this most haunting [and Haunted] song...

King’s Crossing was an old song titled “Three” Elliott wrote and recorded in the 80s when he was around age 19. The version we have is with reworked lyrics.

So, while Elliott Smith (Real Name: Steven Paul Smith) was working on his final album From a Basement on The Hill (where he was being abused severely by many in the house he owned, didn't want anyone living with him), Ryan and many others including Jennifer Chiba and Pete Krebs, and possibly Amanda Mason and Christopher Poole and many others from online and offline, were all trying to kill him and often abusing him sexually, physically, psychologically, and financially. His entire discography sounds like a guy telling abusers to f-ck off.

From a Basement on The Hill (where Elliott Smith was murdered, raped, strangled, hit... Often.)... They were trying to avoid going to prison, doing it for fun (abuse and murder), and they also disliked how skilled of a muscian he was, unlike them. And that he was liked and loved, unlike them.

Elliott Smith was severely sexually, physically, psychologically (verbal, gaslighting, and all other forms), and financially abused. Some would use him for his money. Unlike them, he got somewhere as a muscian. He also appears to have been poisoned. Something or some things in the water causing his hair to thin and leading him to drink less water and bathe less often.

My mother Darcey Klotzbach may have also been in on it with all of the others. She's done and is doing the same to me. Many are abusing me in all of the same ways and trying to kill me. All the people I've said need to go to prison, need to go. They're that bad. Multiple life sentences. No chance of parole. No one will miss them. Why is that?

My mother also may have killed a couple and their kid(s), another couple, tried to kill and/or disable by way of carbon monoxide poisoning (multiple people, including here, me, and probably other properties I've been forced to live at with her), her brother Kevin Klotzbach, her father Gerald/Jerry (worked for the police), Ryan Zabel, Mark Schneider, Mike Zabel, and probably man others. Attempted murder of me, Ryan Zabel, Mark Schneider, Mike Zabel, and probably others.
