Hey mate, i put these same ones on my xv250, they sound great and look pretty good wrapped up. Very satisfying deleting the old exhaust mixer from underneath. If you end up taking them off again to wrap might be worth replacing the copper gaskets, my old ones were pretty mangled after a few swaps. Out of interest were did you end up setting the idle screw? Ive got the same rejet, think I'm on 4 turns out as opposed to the factory 2 and a half now
@iRidetas6 жыл бұрын
Not sure mate i lean drop tuned it so didnt count the turns as such! Sorry.

Also fitted on a pair of ebay slash exhaust, but was wondering if you came across the same issue of the breather tube getting seared by the new exhaust (back)? If so, did you re align the tube or leave it as is? I ended up exhaust wrapping both the pipe and the breather hose. Seems to be better than before but still can smell the hose if I have riden for the day.

@iridetas What difference does tuning the idle screw vs the throttle screw have? Im having issues with the bike bogging at around 60 - 65 mph
@iRidetas5 ай бұрын
Niether will probably help with top end bogging down. The air fuel screw does exactly that change your air fuel ratio and that will be the one to work on. The idle screw raises or lowers your idle. Set and forget after youve adjusted the air fuel I have videos on all these

i got the same pipes but i ran into an issue, just behind the rear exhaust theres a hose going into the crank case which touches the pipe, or comes very very close if ziptied to the frame and it heats up and you can smell rubber after a ride. Your videos are very good and very informative, I also recently got a 09 Vstar 250 and im looking into making some upgrades to it I will be definitely using your videos for advice..I would like to ask you, I'm not really wanting to wrap the pipes if i get them, but would like to avoid them changing color i noticed yours started getting a bit yellow .. Did they turn blue after a while? And also I am planning to put a tachometer on mine as well, I'm having a bit of hard time deciding between the 2& half inch bikers choice tach or baron tach.. Would you happen to know if one is more responsive than the other? Thanks For your videos.. Keep riding man...

@iRidetas6 жыл бұрын

@ap523asst66 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, your videos have been great. I just installed the pods, exhaust and the jets myself. Dropped it off into Yamaha and they rang me saying the set up is not tuneable? I’m actually quite pissed off because obviously it is tuneable as you have done it. What should I do now? I have seen the videos of you tuning after each mod, but not confident doing myself. They recommended going to 2 hours north were there a dyno but that’s not happening.
@iRidetas6 жыл бұрын
Is the bike rideable? Does it break up at any point through the rev range? If so what is it doing. I wouldnt pay for a dealer or dyno tune for this bike personally. The mods dont increase performance and imo doesnt warrant a dyno tune. If you put jets in and adjusted the air screw mine was fine. Each bike is different so very hard to diagnose or tune without seeing it.

The bikes also putting out 18v what could that be. Thanks

So I turn the mixture screw clockwise as far as it goes, then anticlock wise 1 3/4 turns and then that’s factory setting? Is the a factory setting for the idle screw on the other side?

@iRidetas5 жыл бұрын
Asking the wrong person there mate, a) don't give a shit about neighbours b) live in a rural area bbuuuutttt imo with a baffle in they are not obnoxious. I, in that circumstance wouldn't run them without a baffle (reduces performance without one anyway) as it makes the more annoying!

I found out a little while ago, but still struggle with the fact that they put a fake rear pipe on the little xv. Quick question about the pipes you put on. As far as you can tell, do they start off around 1" where they exit the heads, then just dump into the 1.5" pipe for the rest of the way, or is that thick pipe just a sleeve over a pea shooter internal?
