I so love her style…Iris studied art (I would love to see Iris’s art…Iris’s creative diaries from when she was young…..and then on to studying….design at college and university too…….the history of the objects…”like welcoming friends when I open the door”..the vintage pieces…… made from culture and unique crafts (being lost to globalization) …..put together just so…. in her unique way……her husband is her lover, confidant, collaborator supporter….they really admire and devotedly love each other ❤️🔥❤️ Their combined love of vintage textiles a shared passion and business together that saw them traveling to the textiles source……..Thank you so much for your tour and your informative and interesting talk. I would like Iris to talk in detail about her favourites 20 pieces. This would be especially fascinating and illuminating as Iris and her husband went to the source countries for much of her textiles …….in the days before many people traveled overseas, before electricity, before the telephone, before the TV, before documentaries…..before the internet …..before globalisation. When Iris and her husband traveled and turned their combined passions into a textile business ……there were unique artisans in distinct cultures. I am sure Iris has lots and lots of unique stories shooting off covering just so many aspects of each piece she collected. Iris is a global treasure and I would love to hear her telling her stories, her thoughts, her perceptions…..especially in her home. Hopefully this will happen pronto with a sort of Antiques Roadshow type lense.

Most people live in a beige world UGH!!!! Not me!!! I have white leather furniture pink and charcoal fur pillows and throws everywhere a leopard print rug pictures everywhere and I love it. A friend came to my place and said who decorates with white furniture and all this pink and grey 👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾 I said the chick in front of you don’t be mad your husband doesn’t let you decorate the way you want to. She said yeah your right. Stunning! You can never have enough . Our homes become an artistic expression of who we are . Each piece has a story is an adventure of gathering. Yes maybe each piece bought here and there with a friend in tow. I agree with turning her place into a fashion icons museum . Not sure rules and regulations of opening a space like that. But it could be moved and rebuilt in a large space or art museum like they did with Julia Childs kitchen. ❤ 🎉😢We will all miss her.
