I would love a list of Irish names for dogs! We have so many Irish breeds in the US and they deserve traditional Irish names ❤

I just love these videos!!! Haven't seen them all yet but I once came across the name Fionán and would love to know how it's originally spelled :) Hope you are having a splendid new year so far :)

I always love these videos because they’re not just the standard popular Irish names that everyone else talks about. And the Viking name Ivar/Ivarr would be the one that morphed into Iobhar.

Thanks for sharing! One of my best friends growing up in a rural US mountain valley was named Adaira. My name's Channing which I've also found to be Irish in history and to somehow possibly refer to a young wolf but I struggle to understand the cultural references that explain its origin. My name is also found in the histories of England and France but the meaning changes quite dramatically from place to place.

Have you heard of Covey or Covy being used as a first name and how would you pronounce that name?

My fiancé and I have agreed on Aidan for a boys name, I prefer Tadhg but she is worried about the unusual spelling and bullying so had to compromise and make Tadhg the middle name. So Aidan Tadhg. Love your vids. 😊✌🇮🇪

I also love Tadhg, as much as I love the spelling I think I would just spell it Tige. I also love Sadhbh and would probably spell it Sive.
@riancleary25742 жыл бұрын
@@insulaarachnid my fiancé suggested spelling Tadgh like Tige but imo it wouldn't be an Irish name anymore 😔
@insulaarachnid2 жыл бұрын
@@riancleary2574 I totally get what you are saying but it also occurred to me that these names are probably much older than the current English alphabet and therefore the phonetics is probably what I focus on! I love how they sound and the meanings :-)

@@insulaarachnid so do I. Being Irish I'm biased haha I love the meaning, history and heritage. Living in Canada its a connection to my heritage

My son is named Tadhg but we spell it without the 'h' Tadg which is the original Irish spelling of the name. We double barrelled his name 'Tadg-Geroid, Geroid is Irish for Gareth and Gerard.

I can’t believe you didn’t do Faolan! It means little wolf. As I understand it it’s pronounced Fway lawn. Lawn because there is a fada (sp?) over the second a.

Man I don't know who told you what our flag means but thats an absolute lie, the green represents catholics, the orange represents protestants and the white is for peace between them. It has absloutly nothing to do with whites and blacks
