*If I hadn’t already had my squares cut, an easier way to make the 9 patch is to sew three strips together. A patterned piece on each side with a white piece in the middle. And also so three strips together with the white pieces being on both sides, and the pattern pieces being in the middle, then open them up, iron them flat and cut to the size you need. For example: each strip would be 2 1/2 inches wide. So the three strips together like mentioned above. The strips horizontal. Cut 2 1/2 inch vertical strips. This would make each piece of the non-patch. Then all you do is sew those three pieces together that make up each nine patch.

Holy smokes, Penny! That quilt is gor-juh-mous! The flower pattern from the long arm was the cherry on top. It really was! IF IF IF I ever finish a quilt (LOL) that will definitely be the one I choose. It really took my breath away. Such a beautiful quilt. Thank you for sharing your talent!

Wow so very pretty my favorite pattern is the 9 patch good job I currently have at least 14 unfinished tops and yes some don't have the pattern or notes with them so I have to guess or just leave them til I find my patterns Or I could recut them to be 9 patches thank you for video

If I had sewn strips together and cut them to size it would have been faster but mine were already cut to 2 1/2 inch squares. Either way though, it didn’t take too long. 😊

I put cut pie es in a zip lock bag and I use a black sharpie Markie and write on the bag the name of the project and the size of the precut blocks.

Very pretty! So did you learn to put notes in, or has that ship sailed so long ago, you have to just have to laugh at yourself? Have you heard about design boards (see Lori Holt if not) make a few to stack your pieces on, makes them more portable and harder to lose bits, easier to tidy away. Must be nice to be able to just sit and sew, once you figure out what to do? Grab that blade and a big water bottle. Your kidneys will thank you if you have a few mouthfuls every 20 min or so. Do you make up a lunch box or leftovers, to grab and go sit outside for a change and fresh air at lunch time? I get carried away and forget to eat. Wash hands if snacks are sticky, the best ones are? Do you do leaders and enders, so you can do a new project, and sneak in a unit between, so you get both done? I like the idea of small gifts with left scraps to end a quilt with no more scraps, or a matching pillow case for storage and to use with it, and the web piecing thing to keep things in order, until I have time to sew across and finish it. Thank-you for showing bigger units, to finish up quicker. Somebody demo'ed sewing just the corners, around 1/2" to check it fits neat, take out pins, cut threads, and only remove treads if they don't work. Get them right and sew the whole seam without more pins. I still don't like sewing skinny long strips, to a heavy top, easier to make pieces less heavy and do 1/4's and 1/2's, to finish, with my arthritic hands. All the best. You could have sewn 2 of your 2 piece units to coloured squares and then 1 to white. To make sure you had enough, sets for blocks toward the end, keep the 3 sewn, together until you put it together. Hope you didn't have too many left over? Dark and light 4 patches, go together easily for small gift projects. Hopefully your scraps are under control aready? Or bag 'em up and give em away?

A few days but if I could have just sat down for a longer period of time it wouldn’t t take long. But…my squares were cut. If you make the cuts the way I said in the video description it would go together faster. I had already cut them years ago so I had no choice but to use the method I used in the video.

It’s 80x91. I used the squares I had already cut for that fabric line and that’s how many nine patches it made. It was 91 squares I think. Rows - 13x14
