This will sound horrible to Cocktail enthusiasts but my go to used to be a white Russian variation where I replaced the vodka with butterscotch schnapps, I called it a butterball. Also I should say it wasn't more butterscotch than coffee liqueur but around equal parts with like a lot of milk instead of cream

Lived in Ireland for seven years: all the folks I hung out with who drank coffee rather than tea would just make a cup of coffee with whatever they normally had in, then pour in an appropriate amount of whiskey. I've made a version of irish coffee from my Army buddy's recipe (he's a second generation immigrant from Ireland), where you basically steep coffee in whiskey overnight in the fridge. I chose some jim bean vanilla and folgers to experiment and it was delicious. Very very strong in caffeine and alcohol so I ended up mixing it with regular coffee like a liquor but the taste was amazing. By far the smoothest adult coffee beverage I've had without sugar.

I've been putting orange peel in my coffee for years when it's in season. A swath or two expressed and dropped in the bottom of my mug with vanilla creamer and hot coffee. By the time I drink to the bottom it's an orange chocolate candy. Could do the same with iced coffee but I peel most of an orange in a spiral and pack against the glass as a coil around the ice. Also, half a cracked cinnamon stick in hot coffee. Right in the grounds for steeping or in the bottom of your mug. Do it

9:30 Coffee with orange juice is called bumble-coffee. It’s a staple of Russian coffee shops, and it’s soooo yummy! Two layers - sweet juice and bitter coffee (when it’s done on ice, the hot version mixes up way too quickly for layers). They usually add caramel on the bottom, but when I make it at home I don’t bother, it’s plenty sweet from the juice already

In the north of France we had "le g'nief" , as we call it , it was a cup coffee served with some genièvre , an eau-de-vie with juniper berries , some say it is the gin's ancestor . We still find the alcohol but it was so much vilified because of the local high alcohol consumption that most of the people forgot about the liquor and the coffee .

Baileys and Russian is two other examples, Baileys being (obvs) baileys and Russian being vodka. How I was taught to do it was 1. Heat your glass with hot water (put a spoon in it so it doesn't crack) 2. Empty your glass out and add a teaspoon of coffee 3. Add sugar if the customer wants it, add your alcohol and add hot water until you're about 3/4 the ways up the glass 4. Using a combination of (hand) whipped and liquid cream, pour over the back of a hot spoon I'm aware using instant coffee might be a bit of a sin to some

I would suggest using white sugar cubes as that's what they use at the Buena Vista, and I've tried different sugars including granulated versus cubed. Strangely, the white sugar cube truly does taste "right" as compared to granulated sugar, which makes no sense to me. Definitely, stay away from other sweeteners, as they make a big difference, and make sure the coffee is strong. I use a frother to whip the heavy cream just to thicken it a bit, just don't go as far as whipped cream. Been to Buena Vista several times, and they are not stingy with the whiskey. I haven't been there in a number of years now, but I believe they were using Jameson's.

Whatever your commentary in other videos on scotch and coffee, namely Laphroaig....I've had a tiramisu and Laphroaig combo that was out of this world!!! Having seen said other video before this one, I'm so happy you enjoyed a scotch with peat and smoke that paired with coffee and a wee hint of chocolate. I'm reaffirmed in my tasting of the tiramisu and Scotch!

I've been making a very pleasant coffee old fashioned with 1.5 oz bourbon, 1oz coffee liquor, .5oz simple syrup, and orange bitters. I have been thinking of swapping out that bourbon with some scotch, maybe a Monkey Shoulder.

One of the first drinks I had was Sheridans. It was a dual bottle and one side had a coffee liquor and the other one had a cream. As you poured the cream was floating on top. Now I know where it came from.

An aero press would solve the coffee portability issue, you could also pick up a pour-over coffee maker if you want a whole other crowd reminding you that you’re doing it wrong. Either way, both methods make for satisfying close-ups through a clear glass.

Love me some Jamaican Coffee, its a little twist I made on the Irish Coffee using Jamaican rum: - 1 oz (30 ml) Appleton Estate 12 - ½ oz (15 ml) Smith & Cross - ½ oz (15 ml) rich demerara syrup - ¼ oz (7.5 ml) St Elizabeth Allspice Dram - 3 oz (90 ml) hot brewed coffee (Jamaican Blue Mountain, single origin, dark roast) - I use V60 coffee, but Chemex should work too! - 1 oz (30 ml) heavy cream (floated) Garnish: freshly-grated nutmeg If you try it let me know how you like it! Demerara syrup can be scaled down or up to taste. I, myself, have a sweet tooth. I think the allspice dram really gives it a nice oomph.

From watching almost all of the episodes of H2D I just now realized that the way that Greg ends episodes is just rambling until he says something ridiculous and cutting it there, I love this method. Also just to add an opinion from one viewer, I don't mind change ups on the set at all, as long as Greg is there making something im in.

I came across this video delving into your back-catalog, and the Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee sounds like the answer to a drink I've been playing around with for a couple of years but was lacking something. Mine is called either the Black Irishman or the Jim Plunkett (I keep going back and forth on the name), and consists of Kahlúa and Powers Gold Label. I keep cutting back on the Kahlúa because it was too sweet -- Mr Black sounds like the solution. Thank you, and Sláinte!

My absolute FAVORITE coffee cocktail at the moment is this: South of No North by Chris Langston: 1.5 oz tequila reposado 0.5 oz simple syrup (1:1, would be like 3/8 oz of your 2:1 syrup) 0.5 oz Cynar 1 oz cold brew (or ice brewed) coffee. MUST be a fruity, natural-processed Ethiopian (preferably from the Harrar region, but a natural-processed Yirgacheffe also works) 1 egg white 2 dashes Bittermens Mole bitters (on top of the foam) Dry shake, wet shake, strain into coupe. Dash (drop) 2 dashes (about 20 drops) of Mole bitters on top of the foam. Swirl it around if you like. Cannot overstate how brilliant the combination of Cynar and coffee is. In fact, I have another example of this combo that's pretty much just as good: Barnaby Jones by Maura McGuigan: 1.5 oz Famous Grouse blended scotch (or another lightly-smoky blended scotch) 0.5 oz Cynar 0.5 oz real, high-quality maple syrup (grade B/grade A "dark and robust" or whatever the hell they call it now) 0.5 oz heavy cream 1 whole egg 12 coffee beans (they help to whip the cream and the egg and add some coffee flavor when shaken) grated cinnamon for garnish Dry shake, wet shake, strain into coupe. Grated cinnamon on top.

i guess this'd technically count as a coffee cocktail, but there's this drink i made after challenging myself to invent a drink using the Coca-Cola with coffee drinks, and im proud of how it turned out and wanted to share in the hopes you, Greg, will see. i call it a Fruit Bat - 2 oz. Dark rum - .5 oz. Simple syrup - .5 oz. fresh squeezed mandarin orange juice - .5 oz. Orange liqueur - 1 dash bitters - 6 oz. Coca-Cola and coffee dark blend - .5 oz. Cream (heavy cream or half and half) Shake rum, syrup, mandarin orange juice, liqueur, and bitters with ice, strain into a glass with ice, top with Coca-Cola and coffee and cream, stir, garnish with a mandarin orange slice
