IRISH DANCE - CONTROL - Drills & Exercises

A short 10 minute class with 4 challenging drills & exercises that will test your control!
I just love challenging myself to work on exercises like this. They are definitely much harder than they might seem at first. You'll see me struggling to keep my balance with some of them haha!
You won't need a lot of space which is great.
Things to think about:
- Stand tall with your chest open, shoulders back & chin up. You want to look confident & in control!
- Engage your core!
- Lock your back leg & control the front leg on the way down when needed.
- Try to keep each drill clean & precise!
- Focus & breathe.
You might want to try these in front of a mirror to help your awareness at first.

Your tutorial is so excellent… it addresses all the hard parts and you go through it slowly enough that I can work on them! Question: what do you do if you cannot balance on the toe with heel up while lifting out the other leg? Do you have a tutorial on balance, or should we just practice holding onto the wall till that improves?

You're so welcome and thank you for your lovely comment. I'm so glad you found the class helpful! You can hold onto something to have a little support or keep your back heel on the floor! When you're more comfortable, you can then challenge yourself to lift the back heel. Progress is all about those small steps.... let me know how you get on!
