Great idea. Dominicans use the Dominican Rite on it. Any Missal that was over 200 years old st the time of QUO PRIMIUM are grandfathered in the LR! Plus Sarum and Celtic!

I have a similar metal box portable altar that was used during WWII by the US Military. The mensa is flat, and the altar stone that was originally used is missing, but the chalice, paten, crucifix, candlesticks and cruets are still there. I was able to get a small set of altar cards, linens and have a small Missale Romanum, as well as an Antimension to replace the altar stone. It's been very useful when travelling in areas where there are no parishes with clergy who are favorable toward the EF.

What a great idea! And it will be surely be needed in the near future when Jorge brings the hammer down on the Latin Mass and priests who want to say it will have to do so in secret (just like the early Christians).

I was taught Latin at school in the 1960s. Unfortunately my teacher had no confidence in his own ability to teach the subject and resorted to using the strap if you didn't do well enough. As a result, my hands got rather sore as I was not very good at the subject. However, despite that experience, I love attending the Traditional Latin Mass.

The OP OL Rosary in Midtown Houston is doing something right. They sing the Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei in simple Latin chants. Using the OF. Communion on tongue kneeling at the rail. Odd. 6 of the dozen men in formation in the St. Martin de Porres Province are from this church. Shows you can do the OF right. And. The Masses have people of all ages coming to it.

Well, if the priests do not know how to say the Traditional Latin Mass, then they’d need to be trained 1st. And it’s not just the language, it’s the rite. There’s a big difference in how the Mass is performed/said by the priest than with the “watered down“ version of the “Novus Ordo” the “New Mass”. It’s not hard for the laity to learn the Mass as there are missals & even booklets with English (or your native language) on 1 page, & Latin on the opposite page. All of which is accompanied by pictures of the priest in his various positions during the Mass so that anyone can follow along. Even children, who learn by using pictures 1st when they can’t read yet, have no problems learning this way. I urge every Catholic to attend the Latin Mass at least 3 times. Yes. 3. Give it a chance. Once you understand the DEEP prayers that are in this Mass, you’ll feel it reach into your soul & you’ll never look back. As a convert from being a Protestant, I didn’t come into the Church in the Latin Mass. Our Blessed Mother lead me there because of my deep love for Her. SHE brought me into the Church! SHE lead me to this beautiful, profound Mass. May God be praised!!!

Actually, you can use it for the OF and Ordinariate Forms! The OF can be said facing East. Done at Annunciation in Downtown Houston.

That's exactly right. However, when a priest in my Archdiocese said the OF facing east and saying the Mass in Latin, the Archbishop immediately told him to face the congregation and say the Mass in English. So much for diversity and listening.

Forgive me if wrong but Aren’t the Dominicans still being suppressed from practicing their traditional Dominican rite ???? ( in Latin) - Bishop Fintan Gavin would have to remove this suppression of their beautiful rite of mass for to be enjoyed by the laity here.
