€138 converts to $148.74 €1.00 converts to $1.08 Hey guys, I should have put the conversion (euros to dollars) in the video (but it slipped my mind somehow) so I’ll leave it here! (I know it changes even slightly all the time but still helpful to give an idea)

Beautiful video Steph. Your family is soo cute 🥰 you can see how much the girls love each other. And you look beautiful and radiant! It’s interesting to watch from the first videos to now, I feel you are much more confidant and seem overall happy and content. It’s definitely not easy moving countries but you make it look easy ha! All the best 🥰

Aww your videos bring me such comfort as American with an irish dad and american mom who spent many years of my life between dublin and the midwest ❤️ I’m now in my 20s and randomly moved from MN to Galway alone and missing when my family was experiencing the new environment with me. Your videos alleviate the feeling of being alone and make me nostalgic as well. Also, your girls are definitely having the best time as going to primary school in Dublin created the best memories for me.

Steph, Loved your Dunnes Stores Shop with prices. Similar to a Calif. shop. How about big box stores like a Costco, Have they arrived on the scene yet? Great to see the good weather there and the visit to Powerscourt/Greystones.Happy Times

Thanks! ☺️…. No Costco yet! I miss having one around though, actually, I just happen to Google if there was a Costco in northern Ireland (the other day) because I know the UK has them. But there’s not one anywhere on this island of ours. 🤣 can’t see them adding one anytime soon lol but it would be so nice.

I shop in Dunnes too because I like the store and products. I always buy that pepper sauce.❤ Delinately recommend it. I think that if you can choose the Dunnes brand products you can save alot. I do find Italy much less expensive for groceries. Its the only country I can compare with. Buon appetito Steff!

yeah Dunnes is my favorite grocery store here overall ❤️ I really enjoy their brand of products as well! Sometimes I wish they had just a little bit more variety but they have good choices! (Think I sometimes miss the selection in the states 🤣)

Out of curiosity, I just did a side by side comparison of the grocery store prices down the street compared to what you just showed, and it’s more than twice the price. I live in San Diego, CA.

Oh wow 😯 I’m not necessarily too surprised tho i guess lol 🫤 thank you for doing that/sharing, I was curious to know as well! (I know it might vary state by state and in different areas, and diff stores) but yeah it seems groceries are more affordable here (even by a little bit). We have Aldi and a store called Lidl which is basically the same as Aldi and those are even more affordable! I usually stick with the same store (Dunnes) because I like my specifics and I’m too lazy to go to two lol but I should do an Aldi haul because I’m sure that would be an interesting video as well! (Also, seeing your profile picture just reminded me, I think you emailed me the other day? I’m going to get back to ya if that was you 😆 sometimes if I read some thing and don’t have time at the moment, I will forget lol)

Thanks for sharing Steph! Random question was it hard to get your stamp 4? My husband is an Irish citizen too so just curious about that process. & do you run into any issues when traveling to other countries in Europe since u don't have a EU passport??
@mcginnsteph
@mcginnsteph 11 ай бұрын
Hey there! No it was not difficult getting my permanent residence card (stamp 4) I just had to enter the country as the spouse of an Irish citizen and have supporting documents like marriage certificate, and I can’t remember what else but I don’t think it was too much. And then I just made an appointment at an office in town, like an immigration office! ☺️

I personally love the grocery hauls, I even always like them in the states lol shopping hauls in general, I’m just a nerd like that I guess/I just love shopping 🤣 Totally off topic though and probably a silly ask but did you port your US number over to like a google voice or anything when you moved/did you lose all of your pictures/saved things on your phone?
@mcginnsteph
@mcginnsteph 11 ай бұрын
I like hauls too 🤣 usually more in the beauty or clothes realm lol I feel like it helps me make more of an educated purchases too 😆….. I didn’t transfer my phone number or anything but I was able to keep all of the stuff on my iPhone, I think because I kept the same Apple account. And when I got a new phone number and Sim card here, all of my stuff stayed on my phone.

thank you! Yeah, it looks pearly, what gives it the effect is getting a white chrome powder on top of your gel color! Became quite trendy last summer, and then I just have a very pale shade of pink under the chrome. 💕

I'd love to know or maybe make a video on is there a difference in quality in food and different things between the the us and Ireland. There's countless videos on KZbin of Americans claiming they can't eat American food after being in Europe that it makes them sick
@Hello-yn2dx
@Hello-yn2dx 11 ай бұрын
There’s a massive quality difference in the food in Ireland compared to the US and UK. Having lived in all three places (not for long in the US), now in the UK, the difference to me, my family and friends is out of this world! Irish food tastes so much better!, fresher, tastes homemade, good quality and not synthetic. When I go back to the UK, we always bring boxes of food back with us to freeze.
@anthonym3351
@anthonym3351 11 ай бұрын
@@Hello-yn2dx Very interesting to hear, I agree on the UK, having been there the food certainly does not taste as good as in Ireland despite the foods being the same type. Maybe Ireland being so small it is easier to get good food fresher, I would imagine that would have alot to do with it.
@Iamhome365

That’s a great video idea! I only have my personal experience/opinion based off groceries i buy but I should look into ingredients banned here to make a more well rounded video. (I just have my basic observations really 😆)

God, it seems the grocery prices are lower than at my Walmart. I checked the euro to dollar rate, and Irish food prices really do seem lower. I would write to President Biden, but I know he wouldn'nt care... nor would the other. But I digress....

@@mcginnsteph It is kind of nice to know that a Euro and Dollar are almost the same when converting. I don't know how sales taxes work there, but every state is different in the US... and sales taxes can certainly add quite a bit to a bill, too. Back when I last lived in Dublin (Knocklyon), I think there was only Super Quinn and Quinn'sworth. Gary might remember those stores. Gosh, I feel like I know you two LOL!
@mcginnsteph
@mcginnsteph 11 ай бұрын
@@timward3116 🤣 I know I feel like I get to know people too, even just through comments lol. There’s no sales tax at the store the way there is in the states, but I think it’s just worked into the price. If I go to Primark and buy two shirts €10 each, my total is €20, nothing additional lol. I know Gary remembers super Quinn’s without even needing to ask lol bc he’s mentioned it before😆, think it’s now Supervalu 🤔 also, yeah it’s cool that they’re nearly the same lately (euros to dollars), so easy to compare I suppose 😆
@timward3116
@timward3116 11 ай бұрын
@@mcginnsteph I think with sales tax, things might even be more expensive here. Now at Walmart, a somewhat large candy bar is about $2.50 at the checkout of my Walmart (not sure if prices vary from state to state). I must sound really old, but I remember when large candy bars were a dime. Well, take care! "See ya" in the next video!

@@timward3116Supervalu took over all of the Superuinn’s supermarkets to save it from administration, similar to filing chapter 11, back in 2011 and the only things of their store brand salvaged is the famous and beloved Superquinn sausage. It is the nicest sausage on the island still. In 1997 Tesco purchased Quinnsworth. Superquinn was seen as the most premium supermarket back then especially compared to Quinnsworth.
