This is the short patriotic movie that RTÉ used to play when they were shutting down for the night. Think it played in the late 70s or the Early to Mid 80's

The music is a little creepy alright. But, each to their own. Some Irish are religious nuts when it comes to the national anthem and nationalism. So the more overpowering the better for them. I think I made a better one myself, you can see it on my channel. I called it; "What-If 21st Century RTÉ Closedown (Kieran Griffith)"

@Fíonán Murphy Yes, I guess so but, sadly, it's not as if the Saxon foe hasn't given you enough reason for those sentiments over the past eight centuries or so. Perhaps we should blame the Normans rather than the Saxons, as they seem to be at the root of the trouble. They gave us Saxons a hard time too and still do, in some ways, only nowadays they call themselves English and go to public schools. No names; we don't want to get political, do we?

Although not Irish I love this National Anthem. I listened to RTE Radio 1 when it was on LW 567 KHz in the 90's. The last words before closedown the announcers usually said was "Oíche mhaith agus codladh sámh" (Goodnight and sleep well) and then played Amhrán na bhFiann a slightly faster version compared to this YT video

+Andrew Swift Almost everyone loves the Irish it is our duty to love everyone back. At the exponential rate that the population is increasing through immigration and the highest birthrate in Europe Ireland should have a population of 30 million by the end of the century. We have the only hardcore nationalist party in the world that is pro-immigration and Irish descendants live all over the world. If we were not welcoming new Irish with open arms from Poland, Nigeria, Brazil, China etc. We would be the biggest hypocrites on the planet. But you probably know all that already.

Ireland is the third proudest nation on Earth and one thing all good and smart people in Ireland can be proud of is that 10 percent of Irish residents weren't born in Ireland and race motivated crimes are extremely rare. i am not white myself and my mother was born in Kenya to an Indian family and I plan to adopt two baby girls from Africa when the time is right and bring them up to be even more Irish then I am.
