That's the ONLY ingredient... how can they don't be made out of Agave?!?... Tequila used to be a cheap drink used mostly by the poor and working class usually builders and farmers. And it has a designation of origin, so only few Counties in the state of Jalisco are allowed to call this sort of drink "Tequila" and it must be made out of blue agave, the difference in cost and flavor it's given by the number of press and rectifications and also the aging... a Young Tequila has an earthy, vegetable, strong flavor, really high on alcohol and stings your tongue. An aged mature tequila has a smooth flavor with nutty notes and taste of woods sometimes frugal notes. 1 to 5 years it's the average aging period, even thou some brands age it up to 10 years (premium brands) but they are really rarely seen as it is not common to age tequila that long. Tequila is made by roasting the cores of the agave in a huge furnace and then press and distilled and then aged usually on white oak barrels. But that process and the wood used may vary from producer to producer.

Alcoholics or people dependent on alcohol through an addiction create a fallacy in their head that a certain alcohol is different than another alcohol. Sure beer, wine, or liquor as in categories. However, if you are not dependent on alcohol which is rare in the day and age, then you have a true pallet and taste identity. People need a reason to rationalize their drinking, so their brain which understand the body is now addicted creates these false senses and since the primary sense involved in alcohol is taste, you bring yourself to believe that alcohols are somehow different. That Sauza bottle is basically 51% tequila, 49% grain alcohol (aka vodka), so that's pretty close, also it's just bloody terrible. The other tequilas are nice though, I feel they're not giving the agave a chance here, give the poor people some ice to go with it next time!

Tequila fact! The clear blanco or silver tequilas haven't aged. They're usually the cheapest and meant for mixing. Reposado means "restful" because reposado tequilas have "rested" in a barrel for up to a year. After a year in a barrel it is an Añejo. These are the smoothest tequilas and have complex oak flavors, like the Don Julio.
