As a NZer, I loved this haha I will point out that pineapple lumps were made on accident at a confectionary factory and they were like 'oh lets sell these'. Also remember that we've grown up with this stuff so we grew up loving things like L&P and pineapple lumps.

Most annoying assumption about this: New Zealand = small...we are bigger than the UK, we just look small compared to Australia and have less people, but compare it when you keep in mind Aussie is roughly the same size as the mainland USA. And yes most of us know pineapple lumps are weird but wonderful, especially if chilled until they harden enough to injure small childrens teeth.
@danepotmo2513
@danepotmo2513 7 жыл бұрын

Probably doesn't help that we spend so much effort calling ourselves a small country... we're 76th out of 200 by area, and 125th by population. There's nothing small about New Zealand, apart perhaps that we tend to punch well above our weight

Sick! I live in New Zealand!!!! And pineapple lumps are the most famous nz treat they are like everyones favourite thing and I always have them in the freezer so they go hard and chewy.

Have to say Sam though ... they do vary in their consistancies ... i prefer them soft not rock hard - but then that could be because I'm venturing towards the era of dentures in the near future if I aren't careful!

As a kiwi I'm gonna say, They sent you a bunch of shit. Where's the chit chats, the peanut butter whittakers chocolate, the whittakers chocolate milk, the pavlova, jelly tips, chocolate bars, cookie time cookies after they have been in the microwave for 15 seconds, franks lemonade to make them happy *then the L&P so they can taste the difference, the perfect butter to marmite ratio on toast, 42 below? We have a lot of waaay better things you guys could of had.

The pineapple lumps are made in Australia now and the L&P used to be made from this really clean pure water that had this taste to it then they added lemons and now it's owned by coca cola so now it's made as cheap as possible with additives and heaps of sugar. So the last two foods don't count as new Zealand food anymore
