Wolong Gong People from America dont call it American Pizza. People in other countries call it that, because its from America and most dont know shit about Chicago or its history. Much like how people cant name where PB and Mayo sandwich are from. Some are saying its popular in the south, some in Illinois say its popular, some people in the west coast say they ate it, Im from WI and I know people whove eaten it. Its a multi state thing, not even regional. If I wanted New England clam chowder its different to West coast clam chowder, but to someone in Ireland they dont know shit about the difference

Okay, I've been an American all my life and never have, nor eat a peanutbutter and mayo sandwich. Ambrosia salad is common in the south, not so much up north. What the hell is Cougar Gold? Never heard of it. Maybe it's popular in another region of the states. Koolickle? WTF is that? Weird American food is right. To each their own I guess.

Soho Yankee cougar gold is a sharp cheddar made by the creamery at Washington state university. It's called cougar gold because the school's mascot is a cougar. Idk why it's even in this video, it's legit only popular in Washington state. And seriously, it's just cheese. Made by a university. In a tiny Washington town.

I like how the PB&Mayo sandwich had a caption “once popular in the south” because now I’m certain it must have been some depression era recipe that people only ate because they had nothing else. That’s the only explanation that makes sense to me.

A bit of history on Cougar Gold cheese--it was invented in the 1930s, when there was a national milk surplus. Researchers at the University of Washington invented a cheddar cheese that could be canned, and thus the surplus milk didn't go to waste. Cougar Gold cheese is still made today, sold in its distinctive tin cans.

George Williams I recall Watergate Salad as being chopped apples, walnuts and currants or raisins and maybe finely sliced celery with a mayonnaise dressing. I’ve made this one with walnuts, maraschino cherries from the jar, small pieces of pineapple, grapes cut in half and other small but soft fruits with a Cool Whip base mixed with a small box of pistachio pudding. They appear similar but this one if certainly fluffier and sweeter.

You said the French would be ashamed of the Cougar Gold cheddar cheese? Actually cheddar was originally made in the village of Cheddar in Somerset, England. I don't think they would think too badly of it, it's very tasty. The reason it's called Cougar Gold is because Washington State University's athletic teams are called The Cougars and they sell this cheese to fund some of their activities. It's pretty popular in the state of Washington.

'The rest eew wtf' implies white cheddar is repulsive to you lol. The tin doesnt affect its taste at all. A bit of history on Cougar Gold cheese--it was invented in the 1930s, when there was a national milk surplus. Researchers at the University of Washington invented a cheddar cheese that could be canned, and thus the surplus milk didn't go to waste. In WWII they also found it was one of the few cheeses that didnt spoil during transport.

Cougar Gold is an American Cheddar cheese produced at the Washington State University Creamery in Pullman, Washington. Like other cheeses sold at the creamery, Cougar Gold is notable for being sold exclusively in 30oz tin cans. In 1993, the American Cheese Society awarded Cougar Gold with a blue ribbon, and in 1995, the cheese earned the United States Cheese Champion silver medal. Cougar Gold later received a silver medal at the 2000 World Cheese Awards and a gold medal at the 2006 World Cheese Awards.

WIth banana, it is truely eaten in the south. I was introduced to it as Peanut butter and banana sandwich, and yes, I could not believe it had mayonaise in it.

Bartleby the Scribener yes, WSU cheese. It's amazing but expensive & hard to find sometimes. Washington state University makes it & ice cream from the agriculture program.

I was first given peanut butter and mayo in third grade at a friend's house and I thought I would hate it, but I actually quite liked it. Apparently, it was popular in their family. That was in Michigan, which is in America. I've eaten them ever since and rarely, but sometimes come across others who do, as well.

1. Should’ve done peanut butter & pickle 2. Cougar Gold is made by the Washington State University, whose mascot is a cougar, thus the name. The school is in Eastern Washington. My understanding is that the milk is from the cows kept for their agriculture program. As such, they can only make a limited amount. Cougar Gold & Local Smoked Salmon sandwiches are incredible! (I grew up on an island in Puget Sound, which is western Washington). We used to eat them on Christmas Day, when I was a kid. Yum!
