Growing up in New Zealand, my family used to grill chicken patties with a pineapple ring and cheese on each, then add to buns with crispy bacon, sliced beetroot, lettuce and garlic aioli. So good.

Ok, this is the first Try video I've seen that was all Irish people, and seeing them dancing around with the burgers, that just made me happy. The thing is, McDonalds is so heavily commercialized and marketed that everybody only really has contact with the bottom-tier of American cuisine. And that's kinda my take on the original comment: people hate on American cuisine because it's mass-marketed, not refined and made gourmet like most nations. A burger done well is fantastic, and as in the video, nobody hated all the burgers. It's not the burgers that are the problem, it's the culture around it.

Macdonald’s had a pineapple “burger” back in the day. It was short lived and was introduced as a non-meat alternative during Lent. Surprisingly it was not very popular and was quickly pulled from the menu.

I marinate chicken in ventura(french) dressing..grill n baste..add cheese..your choice but provolone is good. grill pineapple add to chicken..add toasted bun. You can add lettuce tomato whatever but it's truly good without..

My favorite it well-done, but from years of working in the food industry I've been told that's insulting to the chef because a lot of the flavor is cooked out. I don't care. It was never "burned" inside, or even dry, but it was cooked thoroughly with a blackened outside like I like.

In the UK we have three main types of burger, one is any kind of meat patty minced beef/lamb/chicken in a burger bun, second is a veggie/bean burger patty usually in breadcrumbs, and third is a fillet of chicken or fish in batter or breadcrumb in a burger bun. A sandwich is basically anything in between two slices of loaf bread. Then we have bread rolls than you can fill with ham, cheese, bacon, tuna etc etc if its in a bread roll we never call it a sandwich we call it a ham roll for example, unless it's sausage then we call it sausage in a roll not to confuse it with a sausage roll, that is sausage meat baked in flaky pastry. But if you are in Scotland there's something called a sliced sausage roll which is a sausage patty in a bread roll. However when I go to Mcds I order a chicken mayo sandwich which is the breaded patty in a burger bun, I always wondered why it was called a sandwich. However in different parts of the country they call bread rolls barms or cobs. You can even get a meat pie inside a bread roll, and that's just called greedy. Also there's chips (french fries) inside two slices of bread but its not called a sandwich its called a chip butty, unless its in a roll in the North of England then its called a chip barm and you can eat them for your tea. Hope that's all straightforward.

Never had an Hawaiian Burger.... Pizza yes. The first burger is your standard bacon cheeseburger. I guess I was under the impression this video would compare different Chain's burgers, like Whopper against Big Mac, Five Guys vs. Wendy's, etc.

Yep! Same plant, but that name came from the French "roquette"... it's a North America vs UK difference in vocabulary, like "aubergine" = eggplant. It's confusing, but there's a cool linguistic history behind that. :)

For real! I've seen at least two other KZbinrs who just contacted him, and he invited them over to his house and cooked them several regional burgers and then gave them a history lesson about it while they were eating. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to invite the whole TRY crew over and stuff them so full of burgers they'd all have to buy extra seats on the flight home.

Or why don't we just call a steak a burger? They're both beef. HATE, DESPISE when people say chicken burger UNLESS it is a patty of ground chicken. Hell, Hong Kong and Japan had a shrimp burger. And it was a burger. It wasn't a bunch of shrimp between bread. GROUND MEAT PATTY. Then it's a burger. Meat cuts on bread is a sandwich.

What makes it a burger is the GROUND MEAT. I have no idea why this is such a difficult thing for people to comprehend, lol. Ground meat patty on any type of bread or breadless = burger. You can have a burger on plain white bread, on a croissant, on rolls, on buns, on poppy seed bread. A hot dog doesn't become a burger if it's placed in a typical burger bun-still a hot dog. A burger doesn't become a sandwich if it's placed on white bread, or eaten without bread. A BURGER IS A GROUND MEAT PATTY. Not rocket science.

That's interesting, as an American, there are different classic burgers that I would have presented to foreigners, like BBQ Onion Ring burger, Mushroom Swiss burger, Guacamole & Salsa burger, etc.

Mushroom Swiss Melt on SourDough is one of my favorites as well. As far as burgers go and what is American... Lord there are to many places that do burgers to many different ways for me to even keep track of.
