A couple of years ago, The One Chip Challenge by Paqui spread like hellfire as many people tackled the Carolina Reaper tortilla chip. This year, The One Chip Challenge is back and the people at Paqui sent us some of these chips to try. Each of our TRYers tried to last as long as they could before taking any relief of ice-cream, milk etc. Did they survive? Let's find out...

I once made the mistake of telling an owner of a Thai restaurant that I wanted it as spicy and tasty as she could make it. She was probably 70. That spice made me high as I had ever been. It was glorious and terrifying.

This .. was (one of) THE MOSE HORRIFIC experience of my life... When I got home, the chip had reached my stomach which resulted in convulsing on the floor in agony, while puking up water, bawling crying and chewing rennies for hours. I never want to see a Paqui Chip again as long as I live. Huge credit to the lads who didn't reach for the milk, that one minute 11 seconds felt like an hour!

I did this late last year. The burn for me was strongly in the back of my throat. I thought it was actually causing damage to my throat, which of course it didn't. Around 4 minutes is was okay but 3 hours later I had some stomach cramping which was unpleasant. Surprisingly, no real bathroom issues. One of the hotter commercial challenges I've tried.

I have done this just recently and i can confirm that it does burn very badly but the absolute worse part is not the burn or even the shits afterwards but the absolute chaos that it causes to your stomach as it eats away the lining. I had such intense stomach cramps and pains the whole day

My husband works part time at a bar here on Sint Maarten. (Dinghy Dock) and they sell these. His boss talked us into trying this during the re-opening time of the Covid lockdown. Got the whole thing on video. Husband ate it and beat it...I spat it out after one bite. Funny thing was he went gym after and said his workout was painful for the duration since he could feel it working it's way through. 4 hours later he went to the restroom and there was a muffled "OUCH! Activated charcoal absorbs toxins and toxic ingredients so once the chip and spices dissolve, the activated charcoal helps you not get poisoned by the spices of the chip, because those spices can probably damage the insides of your stomach lining.
