Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny at the White House for St. Patrick's Day: "It's fitting that we gather here each year to celebrate St. Patrick and his legacy. He too, of course, was an immigrant." He also says, "The Irish believed, four decades before Lady Liberty lifted her lamp, we were the wretched refuse on the teeming shore. We believed in the shelter of America. In the compassion of America. In the opportunity of America. We came and we became Americans." Full video here: cs.pn/2nzUrtg

I don't claim it to be holy land either. No such thing as holy land to me, and I lived in Israel for ten years. Israel is no holier than Ireland, but it is Jewish land and not Irish or Arab land. But Israelis don't tell the Irish what to do regarding their own civil wars and internal problems. And Jewish kids never beat up Irish kids calling us Christ killers either.

I read a post a friend of mine wrote today in regards to the PM of Ireland who said "WE came and we became Americans" It had only the sound bite of the PM and it was basically Inferring / referring to the current immigration situation here in the the US. Trying to make a point which really was a jab. My friends post was not on the Trump side either and they are most on the far left on all things Political and I was going to comment on my friends post to refresh their memory and that letting them know the PM reasons to forget what his country is also based on. I know my friend wasn't really thinking this through. I didn't comment on his post so as to not cause a conflict with our friendship but... Ireland and St Patrick and all Irish anything is still based on Protestant and Catholic backgrounds CHRISTIANITY and they had their own wars which were based on yes again Christianity. So least ye forget (my friend and Ireland's PM) is yes they came here to become Americans and integrate with the ways of this country. This is not what we are facing now. We are facing an invasion a slow one that has the potential to transform the landscape of America as we know it. The current mess we are in with the vetting issue and the not a ban but a pause, we forget that on one hand we're vetting for radical Islamist but forgetting that it's all those who come from those Muslim countries who follow the doctrine of Sharia Law and they will not conform to our ways here if they follow that rule of law which most do and in fact they will turn on us eventually when they overwhelm the country and turn it into an Islamic State. This is a fact! Read this article (link below) from back in November of 2015. This is no far cry from the reality and the truth and look back at how bad it was then and look or think of what it is like now in those places mentioned that have been terrorized by the thugs who came in as refugees only to turn into their worst nightmares. So you can not Mr. PM of Ireland in any way compare your immigration, The Irish who fled their country during the famine and the British then and then to the Muslim Sharia law followers who are nothing like your Irish immigrants. Do not attempt to stand at that podium and berate our President who most certainly has all the reason and the right reasons for protecting us from what is to come or may not come if we protect ourselves. He is right! Lets see how many Muslim Sharia Law followers you let in Mr. PM of Ireland and they start to roam your country and tearing up your streets and pubs and ancient sacred christian cemeteries. Lets see what you do or how you handle the gang rapes of your women and children and then you allow Mosques to pop up all along the Emerald Shores of Ireland. Then Mr. PM of Ireland then maybe you can berate our President but you made a fool of yourself standing there comparing us in away the US and Ireland's immigrants and the now US and our current immigration vetting system and our taking pause to asses the situation which for the foremost not to good at the moment. The till the shoe fits before speaking it is comfortable for you. www.nationalreview.com/…/syria-refugees-debate-musli…

Hi Sophia, Irish immigrants to US in the 19th century were Christian and white but also Catholic and disease ridden after travelling on so called "coffin ships". At that time they were seen as being a threat to the American way of life. But over time they assimilated with American society. So the parallels with today are relevant and it was a point well made.

Nice attempt at the usual white supremacist narrative... every single thing you said the christians literally did here, which is why we're still speaking English instead of the many Native languages that ACTUALLY belong here. Maybe if the genocide and massacre and slavery and decapitations to convert to christianity and land theft and racial terrorism your institution committed and still celebrate today with statues, holidays, airport and school names, hadn't been done so extremely, there would actually be voices to speak the truth about your country as a whole against the lies you're trying to purport of it.... nice try.

Just heard Enda Kenny’s lecture to Trump on St. Patrick and immigration. In the strick sense Patrick wasn’t an immigrant. He didn’t leave his home to look for a better future elsewhere. His first “visit” to Ireland was as a captured slave, brought there against his free will, and when he got the chance, after 6 years he escaped to France. He did come back I admit, but not now seeking to receive something from the Irish, but rather to bring them the gift of faith. Without the faith he would not have come back to those heathen hibernians. If we accept Patrick as the High King Laoire did and most of the irish did, then take him completely, faith and all.
