That's the first time I've managed to watch an IRRS film show. It was amazing. Ciarán is to be congratulated on the mammoth amount of work carried out to digitise the films. I especially loved the footage from Youghal.

Fantastic footage by Tom and Joe of scenes that are now gone and I remember some of them. The bay platform at Youghal was closed in the late 1970s for road widening and the GSR stock was mainly used for Youghal and were stored in the coaching yard and the low road siding which was next to the Balloon siding. Well done Ciaran for all the hard work.

Excellent, especially the Kerry section; and in particular the North Kerry Line. I lived in Rock Street and we used walk the greyhounds from Rock Street to what we used call the junction. It was where the Fenit line parted from the North Kerry line.

Thanks Pat, delighted to hear that brought back memories for you.

@@IrishRailwayRecordSociety I forgot to tell you that my grandfather Patrick Colgan was a driver based in Tralee, his son Pat was a fitter in the Limerick Depot.

That's great Pat, always nice to hear of a family connection with the railway and footage shown.

My Dad was Station Master in Listowel late 1950's and early 1960's. There was a butcher shop at the top Rock Street - name Barrett - they were cousins; Uncle of mine! My Dad retired from Listowel mid 1960's. Incidentally I think the Barretts had greyhounds too? You should have known them Pat. Séamus Ryle

@@pucky8967 Seamus I knew them well. As a matter of fact I meet John every summer as he and his wife come to Ballyheigue on holidays. My father used say every house in the Rock kept greyhounds and the Barretts were no exception.

Very well done and Interesting video of lovely films. Like seeing the various freight wagons and the cab ride films are always lovely. And the level crossing keeper got the newspaper.
