A great delivery of one of my favorite songs. Right up there with Luke Kelly's delivery, which is a huge huge compliment. I used to commercial fish in some horrible sea conditions and Damien captures the emotions I felt.

This is good, but Jerry Garcia and David Grisman's version of this song is still my favorite. Jerry's voice creaks and groans and hits every note and emotion true, and the guitar and mandolin dance.

randyhandbag could not agree more... sick of people trying to take away from Damo by comparing him to Luke Kelly... as if he is unlawfully treading on some holy turf... I love Luke and the Dubliners but Damo is a performer in his own right and if people are reminded of Luke then a great compliment but personally I hear distinct difference between the two. Damo has a different "rawness" to his voice (prob not a word) that is very subtle but recognisable over time and for his part has helped to bring folk music to another generation. Intersti gly he has produced a lot more work in other genres that is excellent
