I'm sorry, I read that as "Irish Washer Woman Hammered on Dulcimer". It's why I clicked so fast. But I'm glad I did!

There’s a version of this song with lyrics written by Allen Mills, a Canadian folk musician, called Alberta Homesteader.

as a certified Gen Z... trust me, you don't have to say "Irish Washerperson". Gender-neutral terms are only for if you're referring to a group or type of people. The title of this song refers to an individual, who is a woman. So "Irish Washerwoman" works fine.

How come you have so so many instruments? Are they all yours and did you collect them over the years? (:
@deedeetibbits3 ай бұрын
I was given the Ukelin early on in my teaching career by a woman who had found it in her Grandma’s attic and didn’t want it. I took it home and used the little book that was in the box with it to figure out how it was supposed to be played. I started using it in my musical programs, and people started telling me that they, too, had an old instrument that no one wanted…so my collection started! Garage sales, and swap-meets and antique malls became great places to look!

Thank you! My Dad was a band director…Mom a piano teacher….I’m 6th of 7 musical siblings …and we traveled around as a family band until I was 13🎶. So I guess the answer is YES😊

@@deedeetibbits Will check it out. Right now I just have 2 find out how 2 tune it. It's just a little harp, and am waiting on a duduk from Armenia.😂 My son plays the cello, and his father played the bagpipes. So did his grandfather and his uncle as well. The other uncle plays clarinet and sax..so he probably got that from the fathers side (Scottish).

Washer PERSON??? 🤣 Men wash??? 🤣 In the German language there is the "Waschfrau" (washerwoman) and "Waschfrauenhände" (washerwoman's hands). No men in sight ... The housewives or washerwomen were responsible for the washing. And that is still the case today: According to a study, 94 % of German women, who live in a relationship with men, are responsible for the laundry.

Excellent 🎵🎶❕️ 'Twas then, and ever shall be - 'Irish washer WOMAN'. ( I shan't capitulate to the easily offended, the moniker of woman . Be proud women of the world! Do NOT diminish you place in society/ or history ).
