It's not that she can't dance She doesn't understand what dance is. The idea is that the movements should match the musical structure. It's nothing unusual. Most ballroom dancers can't dance either. This dance is called the hornpipe. It's a very ancient Irish dance. It has been around for thousands of years and this young girl is very good at it.

Локтева - это не ансамбль ирландского танца. И тот номер, который они называют ирландским, на самом деле никакого отношения к ирландскими танцам не имеет, у них просто стилизация: считают, что если ногами любую чушь делать, просто махать абы как, то это и есть ирландский танец. Бррр. Хореографы вообще не напряглись разузнать, что такое ирландские танцы, и разобраться хотя бы с самыми простыми элементами. Тем более в России это направление давно существует на приличном уровне - школы с сертифицированными преподавателями, танцоры - победители европейских и др. чемпионатов, есть у кого проконсультироваться. Интернет, опять-таки. И если бы назвали бы это как-то иначе, по-честному, тогда не было бы вопросов.

I was an Irish step dancer when I was about10 to 12 years ago in New Jersey-like 60 years ago!! I still remember what fun it was and the beautiful costumes. I will always remember the the sound of the shoes( which had small fine nails in the front part of the sole of the shoe which created the beautiful sound. I loved how important my posture was, how we had to keep our upper body straight with our arms at our side. The footwork was the most important part of the dance.Even though I was a child, the dancing gave me very shapely legs. Wonderful to see that people are interested in keeping our Irish traditions alive.
