Now we have a crazy virus, shut downs and lock downs, people losing their jobs, their businesses and their minds, protests, riots and lootings and the destruction of statues and cities. How did we get here and how do we get back to a more peaceful and more joyful society??? It's just sad!

in 1969 I accompanied my Irish mother to Toronto to see her sister and mother, who had emigrated there after the war, for the last time, my mum was 49 and dying of cancer. we all went for a night out to an Irish bar in a large hotel complex, some Irish tune came on that my mam and aunt had learned to dance to in school. My mam, sister and her 68 year old mother got up and danced before the music finished there were about a dozen old Irish ladies dancing like these young girls. I was 19 and a bit of a bad lad at the time, but it brought me to tears I have loved Irish dancing ever since, having been born in England I feel it connects me to my Irish roots.

I’m American and I’ll go out on a limb and try to answer a common question here. The reason, many people aren’t smiling at first is because they’re in awe. If this happened in an airport here, most of us would do the exact same. The level of practice that it takes to be able to this is unbelievable. Americans would probably do what everyone here did and enjoy the performance...and then give them a massive applause when they finish. Great job! 🙏🏻😇

This performance was in a shopping mall not an airport.

Doesn’t matter, for the love of the Irish we all need to kick our toes! And it’s a lucky day when we see the young people having a go!

I suspect the crowd is in a type of trance. Groups of people engaging in synchronized movements set to music can do that to us! We lose our sense of ego and self as we get the sense all of the people are acting as one.

Only this isnt an airport....its a shopping centre in England

Most English people are not big on expressing themselves in public situations. It doesn't mean they don't appreciate what they're watching.
