today i am going to share what i spend in a week as a dutch uni student at radboud university! i get a lot of questions about life in the netherlands & being a student in the netherlands from you guys. so last week i tracked all of my expenses as a vegan dutch student!

Great video!:) When I lived in the Netherlads I always used to shop at Aldi and at the farmers market so food was quite cheap (I think I spent around 20-30 € on food/ week which is not too bad), but I can confirm that takeout/ eating at restaurants or even cafes is suuuuper expensive

Is it hard to find the time to cook your meals during the week? That’s always been the appeal of take out for me, I don’t have to spend the time grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning, but it is expensive to do that all the time.😊

i don’t find it hard because i love cooking!! also in the netherlands when you live with roommates it’s very common to have dinner together so it saves you a lot of money ☺️

What brought you to living in Nijmegen as a student compared to the other towns in Netherlands?

i just chose nijmegen because of the master program and i knew that the city was really nice for students bc i already knew people who lived here

yes it is… the bigger cities like Rotterdam, Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht. they are all pretty expensive…

I think everything is pretty similar to Nijmegen, maybe the rent is a bit more expensive. but you will definitely be able to find rooms between 300 and 450 a month euros!

ahhh thank you!! that makes me so happy. Leiden is beautiful!! i know a few people that study there and it is a really nice city to study. buttt, student associations (fraternities en sororities) are reallly a thing there so that's one thing to keep in mind when you think about studying in Leiden!

i had a part time job in hospitality before covid happened!! next to that i have a student loan. finding a job as a student in the netherlands is not that hard!!

yes Maastricht is so fun!!! really beautiful city, I think one of the best student cities in the Netherlands ✨
