Thank you for making this video. One of the reasons I'm reluctant to purchase any iRobot vacuum is because of the bagged system. It is such an unnecessary addition given how heavily polluted our oceans are with plastic. (By 2050, they are anticipating more plastic in the ocean than actual fish! And in turn, this will give us cancer when we eat fish comprised with microplastic in their bodies). So there's a hugeeee incentive here. Those who care about "waste" will take great interest in this video, and will equally take the time to clean their bags and extend their lifetime (Given that the environmental cost is unfortunately not factored into its retail price). Thank you so much for making this video. This truly helps buyers in making an informed decision.

Thanks for the comment. I can agree about the pollution these will make but it really does help keep in allergens and much cleaner when you throw away. All the other systems that you have to empty yourself is very dirty and makes you breath in lots of dust particles that you can avoid with the bag.

Hi, I have an iRobot 675 and an ECOVAC Deebot 600 series and I was debating between 3 different new robots. An iRobot i7 plus, an iRobot i3 plus and a shark iq robot with the self empty bin. IRobot’s use bags where as the shark is a bagless system. That’s the main reason I was looking at the shark because of not having to purchase bags. But I really like the iRobot’s because my 675 is wonderful! I have 5 dogs and 3 cats and it’s wonderful with all the fur that it collects where as my Deebot always gets hair caught in the brush roll. Also I love how the iRobot has the 2 brush roll design. I saw the shark has a self cleaning brush roll.... the iRobot’s I also know have the rubber rolls instead of an actual brush. Do the sharks get a lot of hair caught on the brushes? My normal vacuums are a shark navigator lift away and a Kirby G6 and Sentria... they all get so much fur then the robots do too because they go under the furniture. What do you all think I should get the shark, the i3 or the i7 plus?
@AdamsReviews4 жыл бұрын
@@aduncana1391 I would NOT get the Shark they are just not good compared to roomba. The i3+ is actually on sale for $399 right now amzn.to/2IMuHsB .....the i7+ is overall better but right now its double the price but its alot smarter.

Here is to the folks who do not agree with the idea of cleaning - When the bag gets filled with dust by the base station, the direction of airflow is from the inside of the bag to the outside. When Adam vacuums the dust out, the vacuum generates airflow in the opposite direction which unclogs the pores in the bag besides emptying the bag. As Jason has rightly said below, the bag is an airfilter so the reverse airflow does rejuvenate the bag enough to last 3-4 cycles. After the vacuuming, I take the bag out and toss it around gently to unclog the pores further. The Roomba has another airfilter inside the bin and using a combination of careful dry/wet cleaning and tossing, I have not had to change it too often at all and so with careful cleaning the bag should easily last a few cycles too in my opinion. I do not agree with the idea of putting a zipper on the bag because emptying the bag out from that opening would not unclog the pores. Also zipers would not be as "air tight" as the bag itself and this might cause damage to the base.

I just bought my roomba and I tried to empty the bag and reuse it, but it kept sending an error code. I assumed the new Roomba’s had some type of proprietary bags that would send an error if they were reused. now after reading your comment I think it’s because the dust has clogged the holes thank you for leaving such a detailed and explanatory comment.

A quick way to empty any full vacuum bag is to hold it up to the intake of a shop vac. I use a 2" shop vac without the hose attached and, while the gray plastic gate valve is sucked against the shop vac, pull/move around the bag fabric to loosen up the contents. A few clumps of pet hair may have to be pinched out but, even so, it only takes about a minute to empty a full bag. Even while tilting the bag away from the shop vac to pinch out pet hair clumps the shop vac makes it an easy dust free process and you're saving money while recycling. 💰♻️🌎
@safesparklingandshiningski35922 жыл бұрын
I tried that trick too. A tip: try shaking and massaging the dust bag to loosen up and break any dirt balls so the dust can be vacuumed out easily.
@ireneswackyjournals88103 жыл бұрын
Will do this. I get the sneaky way companies are earning higher revenue now. The sale of the product is a one time revenue until yours brake, but if they make a monthly subscription of either their service or something that you must buy from them in order; then they get consistent revenue in a monthly, quarterly, yearly stream. Think Keurig cups. It’s a waste of plastic and materials in a world where we are trying to move away from just throwing away one time use products. I may have gotten the irobot, braava, but the rebel in me will try to get the bags For multiple use among other items.

If you reuse the bags you’re going to generate some codes on the base unit. You can empty the bag but you cannot clean the bag the bag itself is a air filter. Just collects dust overtime and clogs it and restricts airflow. They’re not that expensive just throw them away and put a new one in they now have generic bags that cost almost nothing.

Why theres no bagless cleaning base option? The bags are not environmentally friendly and they really lose the airflow and eat our wallets. Yea, some people might say that the bags can hold more debris, but the filtration is really bad. Even with the best bag on the market, no matter what, there will be always a leak somewhere. And the air we breath is polluted because of the bad filtration.

you can do this a few times but eventually the clean base will complain about a sealing problem but will still continue to empty it will just always complain when it does empty,what happens is the pores on the bag get finally clogged,you'll notice the pitch of the vacuum motoring changing and then after that the pores get so clogged that i will not be able to open the bins extraction door like it should and that's when it will start complain about needing attention to its clean base.so yes it will work a few times,i do it myself.
