So far so good with this vacuum. kzbin.infoUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.

Thanks for the review, looking at how much was left over, I don't think this would be accepted as "having vacuumed the house". I understand unreachable places cannot be cleaned. But leaving hair in the middle of the room and moving dirt around the house is unacceptable for such expensive robots.(in my opinion)

I purchased both the i7+ & S9+ to see which one was better for my application. I have a 2000sqft apartment with half marble floor and the bedrooms in light pile carpet. The i7 works perfectly on all surfaces and cleans fantastically. The S9 gets constantly stuck on the carpet and ends up almost trying to burn through it, when it finally realises it's beached so goes full power in reverse and digs the wheels in, to no avail apart from damaging the carpet. The side brush gets itself all knotted up and renders itself pretty much useless after the training run. The i7 is a beast, the S9 is a product which is not fit for purpose in real world application, total waste of time and money in my eyes. Get the i7, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the info. We're deciding which one to get and many people said the S9 has issues like you described. Is there a difference in the noise they make? Is one distinctly quieter than the other?

What about if both have the clean base instead of only the i7? Does the s9 vault ahead?

You left out the suction of the s9. It more like a standard vacuum. So for carpets its way better.

Just bought an i7. I've seen occasional bits left behind, but otherwise it works pretty well. This video makes both robots look absolutely worthless. If I had seen this prior to purchasing mine, I never would have, but my experience has been satisfactory. I guess they just aren't good for bigger messes.

@Lee-fw9mr4 жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking... like... THIS is what I've been obsessing over for the last 2 weeks? lol. Better not let my husband see this video. I think this can be mitigated if you program the vacuum to do multiple rounds of the same room, and vacuum twice a day, morning and night. It's bound to pick up everything then. If I had dogs, I would def schedule it to run 3x per day. Why not? Doesn't take any extra effort on my part.
@110ToRay4 жыл бұрын
@@Lee-fw9mr Honestly I would not stress it at all. Roomba is fantastic at maintaining a clean floor/carpet. I've owned the 980 for about 3 years and I have not had to pull out the central vacuum since, and that's with plenty of carpet. Like you said, if you're worried, just run the vacuum an extra time. I'm so happy with my purchase that I'm looking to upgrade to the S9 and get a robot mop for the kitchen too.

I always find those videos from various channels very odd. Not trying to say anything here but the products they test constantly fail to do their basic job for some reason. I mean, how would they even come out of the design lab into full production if they are so bad? Decided to ignore the videos and bought an i7+. Absolutely fantastic experience. It's my first robot vaccuum so I can't compare to other brands, but it does what is advertised. I live in a heavy urban area and dust is a nightmare here. Everything is covered in it after 2 weeks. The i7 just cleans everything for me, even in the corners where it's not even that good at, but it does what it can. If something is hard to clean just order multiple passes and that does the job. Manual cleaning now only in these small spots and alleys where the bot can't fit in.

Very cool test, I love the long hallway and fancy chair legs. Unfortunately the Roombas don’t recognize the shape of the hallway and adjust its cleaning pattern to vacuum lengthwise like the Roborock S6. I will agree that the Roomba S9 has a better side brush performance despite being really small but spins slower than the I7’s. Good Job Again!!!

@@21ClassmatesPlaylab I found the i7 series to be the best balance between features and performance. Also the i3 a good option too especially when iRobot recently added selective room cleaning. The S9 in my opinion a little too expensive for the features you get.

We've had the i8+ (Costco's version of the i7+, which includes a bigger battery, and the base) for about a month now. As one of the other posters says, the job it does cannot be accepted as "having vacuumed the house". We got it primarily to clean up dog hair on the rug in the living room where we spend most of time. My wife is allergic (that's another story). The Roomba just doesn't really do the job. Unless you clean it after EVERY SINGLE USE (meaning, taking out the rollers and cleaning the ends of trapped hair), it will simply start converting the hair into yarn and leaving it in clumps. It will go right over these yarn-like clumps and never pick them up. Even cleaning it after EVERY SINGLE USE and it still won't get all the hair. I'm not so sure $650 (cost with tax) is worth it for something that just isn't doing the single job we want it to do, and something that falls woefully short of a human vacuuming.

You should repeat this test with the old iroomba 650. It is much less 'smart' than these never models, but I think it does a better job. It would be interesting to see what your scientific evaluation would yield.
@JasonStJohn-my1cs5 жыл бұрын
I would like to comment that the clean base does not change the way the vacuum works. The only thing it does is empty the bed. Every time you run the rumba it could do better one time versus the next time it’s just a matter of how little robot went through the house and through obstacles. Once again the clean base has no affect on the room cleaning better or not it just empties the robot it’s it’s only purpose.
@aroach3375 жыл бұрын
Clean base does not change the way the robot works and cannot improve performance. A valid test would have the robots completely empty at the start and set to stop cleaning when the bin is full. Why did you not run the s9 with the clean base if you feel that makes a difference?

Hold on! You claim to do real world cleaning tests. In the real world we do start our Rombas and then go away letting them run unattended. so you can't make excuses for the runtime of the S9 simply because it got stuck.
@Slick10205 жыл бұрын
Well, most owners do a training run and know where the robot might get stuck. Then they add a keep out zone to that area. Having a robot makes you pick things up more so your robot doesn't encounter any problems.
@androidheadlines5 жыл бұрын
Right. Most of the time we find that robot vacuums get stuck because something was left on the floor or a cord got in the way. Getting stuck isn't necessarily an indication of poor performance, although there's a consideration to be had if one gets stuck all the time.
