Thanks for the info on freemote. I’ll check them out! I was going to get a rambler vest, but the jacket is only $25 more…. So I might get that for summer riding (I also regret selli my my tan V1 scout) I was considering trying a L for riding. So you think the ramblers fit much lower because they aren’t lined? I thought they would have cut the scouts liter larger to compensate for the liners.

@@jeffgrantMEDIA I would think that the M rambler would fit you perfectly if you are happy with how the M Scout fits. TBH, though, the XL rambler is roomier than the XXL Scout on me for whatever reason. I have no affiliation with Freenote, but if I were you, I would just save up for the Freenote riders jacket as I like it more than anything IR and the flint and tinder waxed jacket offerings. The fit and finishing are miles ahead.

@@tbochicc I reached out to them last night and got a reply almost instantly. They don’t work with KZbinrs. So I’m thinking I’ll save up a bit of scratch and try and get one this fall. I like how they offer different liners. Their jackets do look really nice.

@@jeffgrantMEDIA crazy that they don't. I Also have the waxed nautilus jacket in tan and love it. It's a deck style jacket, very warm, waxed canvas of course. Looking at their sand jacket also, never had a Bedford cord jacket. That would be nice bc then I believe I could wash it.

Cool jacket, I've got the black one on the way. Question : does the collar have snaps to keep from flapping around on a motorcycle? If not, is it a problem? Great review, good job, sir!

It does not have snaps. I haven’t worn it on the bike yet. Got to get mine ready for summer. But judging by the weight of the color and my years of experience, it shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve only had shirt collars flap around. Denim normals is fine, and this is a heavier weight than a Jean jacket.

For reference what's your height and weight? Also what temperature range do you think one can wear this? I assume it is a Spring/Autumn jacket not so much winter (casual wear, not riding)? Thanks.

I’m 5’9” and about 175 pounds. I can wear this in definitely the spring and fall. I could’ve gotten away with wearing it a lot this winter. But it was very mild through this winter. But it would depend upon the climate that you live in. I live in northeastern Pennsylvania, so generally the winters are really cold here. But as I said, this was a very mild winter this year. It’s about 37° out right now, and I’m wearing a jacket. And with just a light shirt underneath I feel comfortable. If it were in the 20s, I definitely would’ve worn a heavier jacket.

I have been working with Huckberry and they sent me a bunch of jackets for review. So I just haven't worn this much. So I figured I would sell this and try to get a different I&R jacket or a Filson to do more side by side reviews.

What are your body / chest measurements? I'm thinking of getting the medium scout in tan but also like the oak brown. On their website they say the medium should be 22.5 inch rather than 21.5 inch.

Got me a jacket very similar to the Scout but built how I want it. I got a SoSo Type 3 is 13 ounce wax tan with the lining, stitching and hardware of my choice. It was $203 including shipping. I may have to pay customs when it arrives. I'm not sure of the US/Thailand agreement on that. Only draw back is 2 month wait so I won't get to really wear it until next year.

This is basically the jacket I have been looking for. The only thing i would be removing the zipper. Trucker jackets should only have buttons. I’ll look into SoSo. I’ve never heard of them before.

@@jeffgrantMEDIA the zipper is why I wanted the Scout. I was able to get it on the SoSo. Brixton has a USA made waxed type 3 in grey with no zipper. Currently on sale for $120 some odd dollars. Sorry

I'm looking at getting one of these but reading the reviews I can't figure out if I should get a L or XL. I was thinking tan but after watching this video now I'm unsure of which color I want. 🫠

I say they fit pretty true to size. But if you layer, size up. Both colors are killer too!
