I love the comments/opinions people are expressing. Some love the movie some hate it and some are in between (undecided) and that's ok. This movie is not up to today's standard, and that is maybe why there were sequels. I really like the message or shall we say the moral of the story. Can you think of the things in your life that had insurmountable odds that you had to face and overcome them? Yeah, this movie has a cheesy quality to it however how about give it some lovin with comments, lol During the time of this movie there was the "Iran contra" scandel involving U.S. Army Col. Oliver north. Another media close to this was the television show; Airwolf.

If you’ve ever been in the military like me you won’t ever understand the power that these aircraft have. My job was fueler (77whiskey) in the Army 5 yrs 82nd airborne. I was up close and personal with these planes. So all this it’s fake and make believe...think again. I did a yr in Afghanistan. I fueled up Abrahams, black hawks, Apaches, F-16, F18, tomcats, C-17, C-5’s, warthogs. But I did do my fair share of jumps over there. Got hurt in Bagram on a jump and had to get out...I also took a bullet in the stomach. So don’t start talkin crap until you understand what your talking about. Pisses me off when people start flappin their gums about shit they have no clue what it’s all about.

The United States Military in fact has a wide range of foriegn military aircraft and equipment. If you watch the documentary "Red flag" you will see the equipment for example. There are for example sikorsky aircraft that have been used in media. During the time of this movie America had what was called the "Iran Contra" for short. Involving Col. Oliver North. Iran contraband. I have heard of russian S.F. here with equipment some years ago.

Before David Suchet could star as Hercule Poirot, he had to spend some time in the cinematic salt mines. There he was as a Quaddafi-like dictator of a Middle East nation and wondering if he should have kicked his agent’s ass for recommending that the actor should join the cast of this fractured flicker. IRON EAGLE is pure horseshit from start to finish, but if you must watch this travesty, fast forward to the halfway point where Doug Masters and Chappy Sinclair take off in a couple of F-16s and fly halfway around the world to rescue Doug’s father (himself an Air Force flyboy) from certain death. Yeeeesh.
