Wow I remember watching the heck out of this movie with my cousin back in the 80’s. It inspired us both to pursue aviation as a career. Now he is a FedEx Pilot and I’m a United Pilot, both with military backgrounds.

this movie is criminally underrated. I mean, it's no Full Metal Jacket but it deserves more than the 55% on IMBD or the 20% on Rotten Tomatoes, I think it deserves at least a 70%. The plot line of a teenager invading a foreign country with a stolen jet to save his dad because the US Government is too cowardly to negotiate or fight is a little corny but it's still an awesome movie.

I have so much respect for Gossett. Such a great actor. He deserved that Oscar in Officer and a Gentleman. I’m glad he’s in this video of Iron Eagle, one of the greatest songs of the 80s. I have to chuckle though with the full-bird Colonel rank on his flight suit and the Major rank on his flight cap.

As much as I love Top Gun, I actually watch Iron Eagle more often. The movie brings back the 80s for sure. Exactly! This movie contains the senses and vibes of good old '80s, and how high-schoolers were back then. It was a very good Idea to combine rock music and supersonic jet fighters together which turned out to be awesome footage and made a huge success for merchandising. I miss those times and glad that I had a chance to spent my life in such a great era. It takes me back to the good old days. Great film!

Top Gun is a good movie but it's a little _too_ popular to thoroughly enjoy. Theres too many copies and its been parodied so many times that even if you've never seen the movie start to finish you'll already know half the scenes. This is more of a hidden gem and I think I actually prefer it even if it's not technically a better movie.
