Everyone is talking about the albums from the 80s and rightfully so. However, deep down, I think this is the kind of music that Steve Harris has wanted to write all along. He just had to wait for the right moment to do it. If you would have asked a 20-year old Steve Harris about his vision for Iron Maiden, I think the current version of the band is the closest we're going get to his answer.

I went to a Maiden concert recently. Bruce absolutely lit up when they played something from the Senjutsu album. The other songs were more of a “going through the motions” thing. The performances for everything were amazing, but you could tell they wanted to play more of the new stuff. It’s safe to say that THIS is their sound now. I’m happy that they’re still going. They all play phenomenally by the way. Absolutely worth going to see them ;)
