Cool fact: They replaced one of their guitarist during their career when he left. When the original guitarist wanted to come back, they didn't kick out his replacement, they just incorporated 3 guitarists in the band. Super classy move.

There is a reason why Maiden has been one of the biggest live bands in the world for 4 plus decades. I first saw them 35 years ago and was blown away, saw them again 2 months ago and was blown away again (with several times in between). They never had radio play (they were not safe enough for radio), but they have filled stadiums for decades. Up the Irons!

Best metal band, if not the best band PERIOD in the world. Their concerts are really something else; I've been to a lot of metal concerts, but the energy at a Maiden concert is at a whole different level. I've never seen such incredible crowd participation at any other show. If you ever get the chance to see them before they're too old to play, I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. You'd be surprised how friendly and welcoming the metal community is to new members. If you showed up to a metal concert and told people you were new to the scene and it was your first concert, you'd instantly be welcomed into the family. I mentioned this on your Hallowed reaction, but you absolutely need to check out "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" from Maiden's live Flight 666 DVD. It's like a 14 minute song, but it's their masterpiece. Easily their best live performance if you ask me.

The best live rock/metal act in history, hands down. Maiden is probably one of the most influential and universally cited and acknowledged bands, (by other bands) in metal history, and they did it with no radio air play, no MTV, hardly any media recognition or any awards. They did it by touring, touring, touring and putting on the best live shows possible, night after night. By doing so, they've built probably one of the biggest fan bases of any act in the world. You can go to any country on planet Earth and find people of all ages, sexes and ethnicity wearing Maiden t-shirts. They are *the* case study in how to build a world recognized brand from the grass roots.

I was at a Chili Peppers concert and one black beauty in front of me was just thrashing her braids all over the place. I was like, "You go lady!" It was just nice seeing her there with a predominantly white crowd. Music crosses all barriers and brings people together. Black, white, brown, Asian. We need to learn from this.

Cool story: I saw Maiden along with Queensryche and Fight (Rob Halford) in 2000 in California. Maiden opened with the new songs that some fans were not familiar with. Booing began and talking because people didn't recognize the new songs like they did the old songs. Bruce was not having it. He addressed the audience about the issue for a good two to three minutes. In a nutshell his point was: We are a band that has been playing music for over twenty years. We like to make new music over the span of our career. If you expect us to come here and only play the old stuff because it's the only thing you like then tough shit! We're going to keep making new music, expanding our horizons, and deliver kick ass shows for people who come. He ended by saying come on and make some noise and let's all have a great time. He handled the situation with pure class and confidence, and the audience didn't make one bad noise after that. Bruce was firm but respectful, the audience got in line, and it was an awesome show!

My first Iron Maiden concert story: I was 16. Back in the early 80's, in order to get good seats for concerts, we camped out all night by the record store, in line on the pavement with a lot of other people. Winter in Chicago, so everyone had layers of clothes & coats, sleeping bags, at least one had a boom box, and plenty of weed & alcohol. Anyway, the concert (stadium) sold out super fast, we got tickets, but not the best. They added another show, so we camped out again. Those two nights of Iron Maiden concerts were AMAZING! Totally worth freezing outside the record store twice!

This band is unforgettable once you see them in person! Goosebumps man goosebumps! This video comes from the Iron Maiden: Live in Rio DVD. I tell you I've seen Maiden play all over the world (on video of course) and the Central and South American fans are the most jacked up when they attended a concert. Not only do they sing back the lyrics in English, they sing the guitar parts as well. Thanks for another great REACTION video, I recommended you seek out the Maiden documentary Iron Maiden: Flight 666! They do like a 45 day world tour in which they custom design a 747 commercial jet plane in which the lead singer flies the plane all over the world. Its crazy to think Bruce Dickinson flies a 747 jet to a city they're doing a show at and then after the show he gets in the cockpit of the plane and then flies the band 3 to 4 thousands of miles away to the next city!

You seriously need to go see them play live while they're still touring. They are unbelievable live and worth every penny of the ticket price.

You are probably over doing more iron maiden. So much good to hear. Revelations is a great song. "She came to me with a serpent's kiss As the Eye of the Sun Rose on her lips Moonlight catches silver tears I cry So we lay in the black embrace And the Seed is sown in a holy place And I watched, and I waited for the dawn"

It doesn't matter what Genre of music is your jam, or how narrow your musical tastes are, you can't help but be impressed by these guys on stage. There are opera snobs who still respect Iron Maiden.

Maiden always always brings it to their live shows 1000% they all truly love what they do and it shows. They still write and record new albums that still push the envelope and the best part is they are all just super down to earth cool guys. Not an asshole in the bunch.
