ABOUT IRON MAIDEN:
Iron Maiden are an institution. Over the course of six decades they have come to embody a spirit of fearless creative independence, ferocious dedication to their fans, and a cheerful indifference to their critics that’s won them a following that spans every culture, generation, and time-zone. A story of gritty determination and courageous defiance of the naysayers, theirs has been an adventure like no other.
The band’s immense discography includes the studio albums ‘The Number Of The Beast’, ‘Piece Of Mind’, ‘Powerslave, ‘Somewhere In Time’, ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’, ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘The Final Frontier’ and ‘The Book Of Souls’ which have spawned many classic hits as ‘The Trooper’, ‘Wasted Years’, ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’, ‘Wasting Love’, ‘Run To The Hills’, ‘Aces High’, ‘Rime Of The Ancient Mariner’ and ‘2 Minutes to Midnight’.

@@enekoaritzaorreaga nailed it. Between the X factor and virtual we got; the clansman, sign of the cross, man on the edge, Virus the single, angel and the gambler, fortunes of war, lord of the flies, and more. All great. All Maiden. It was a transition era and they did it Maiden style. Bruce had his own band in London which I have his studio and live. Then he went and learned to fly multi engine jets. Massive respect. Maiden of course did flight 666. With. Ed Force One. They bought and refitted a two engine regional jet to go into new areas and have that freedom. Typical Maiden. Blaze did great in my opinion.

that's why Maiden is cool, it's so diverse but at the same time you know it's the same band, you can choose between Diano, Blaze, Bruce, short/fast songs or the epics or all of them. But part of the fanbase is annoying cause all they do is complain and criticize. Like, just chill and go listen to another song!

The X Factor is a great album and this is a fantastic song. Of course I love Dickinson, but I believe it was smart to choose a singer with a voice as different as Blaze´s is from Bruce´s. The songs fit the voice, the album is heavier than others and it was a refreshing change, until of course, Bruce came back. Dickinson is a beast, no question. My point is, Bayle´s 2 albums are good and part of the legacy.

If they chose Michael Kiske he'd probably still be in the band now. Steve Harris fired Blaze for being crap then asked Bruce Dickinson if he'd return as choosing another new singer would hurt Iron Maiden even further at that point.

I think it was a good idea to have a different sounding singer after Bruce, with a lower vocal range - but for the older songs, Blaze should have been allowed to sing them HIS way, in HIS range, in the live shows. If that would have requested downtuning or transscription of the older songs, or just Blaze defining his own vocal line, that would have been up to Maiden of course. But it was simply impossible for Blaze to just copy what Bruce did on the older songs...

@@susannewilliamsson8339 Listen, I am their biggest fan but I must say this: If you know your music and the band, you'll notice subtle changes reflected in their albums. Personal changes, age related and much more mainly in Harris' life. From Fear of the dark on you could just tell. They became so much darker and it realy showed with the X factor. It's worth a listen and take it for what it is but this is no way the Iron Maiden who made a name for themselves for being the prog rock metalish band with amazing compositions one after the other just orgasmicly immaculate. No Mcbrain fills, no Dickison life changing vocals...Anyway...I didn't mind the X factor and the Virtual 11...Brave new world was fantastic and the rest...Well, sorry they should jave kept it all to themseves. That is by no means music needing to be published, it got darker and much worse production wise. I miss Iron Maiden so much, I don't want the 80's to come back, just the basic recipe for Maiden music. Respect brother

Lyrics I don't care for this world anymore I just want to live my own fantasy Fate has brought us to these shores What was meant to be is now happening I've found that I like this living in danger Living on edge it makes feel as one Who cares now what's right or wrong, it's reality Killing so we survive Wherever we may roam Wherever we may hide We've got to get away I don't want existence to end We must prepare ourselves for the elements I just want to feel like we're strong We don't need a code of morality I like all the mixed emotion and anger It brings out the animal the power you can feel And feeling so high on this much adrenalin Excited but scary to believe what we've become Saints and sinners Something within us We are lord of flies Saints and sinners Something willing us To be lord of the flies

This is how I how was brought into Iron Maiden. I heard my dad listening to them on a cassette tape in the living room and I lived the music. I saw the cover art and was blown away and dived deeper into the band. Before I know it known olevery CD and every possible cassette and literally every bit of merchandise I have come across. This band means so much to me after damn near 22 years.

The first line always strikes me: "I don't care for this world anymore", meaning you once did and underwent a supposedly dark transition to the state you are in now.

I think this is one of the better Blaze era songs. He seems better with the more straight ahead rock n roll songs they did in this era than the more prog and metal ones, or the Bruce era songs...

I love this amazing, bewitching song, composed by Janick, the forceful tempo, the brilliant lyrics and the incredible voice of Blaze...And just look at them, their performance, so full of fury, passion and wildness....to be honest, a performance like this steps right into your heart, and stays there....
