Great video and great to see some of the designs, but I'll only support them by buying official merchandise - I suppose it can be evened out by the fact that Trooper Beer is cheaper over here - I only live 30 miles from the brewery and have been in to visit it! Glad you like the Mexican heavy metal scene. The concert was great, that was my fourth time seeing them live here in Mexico. There is a bootleg flea market every saturday in a place called 'Tianguis del chopo' have you visited it? Greetings from Mexico and Up the Irons!!

I always hear that, about the concerts in the US or Canada being like that, here in Costa Rica, some of us were in line outside the stadium for two weeks (I was there for 2 days) and the crowd is one of the best things about the concerts, you see everyone getting drunk together and the bootleg t-shirts are badass

I must say..thank you to Dan for this video, I fucking wish more people would film merch booths so someone know prepared going in how much prices are and what they have because as we know there are merch items city specific. That being said..I doubt Mr. Smallwood and Maiden approved of this....this is Mexico and let's be honest, many a person has been known to be ripped off or prices jacked up to rip off "the white gringo's" that will come to the show. However I do thank Dan so much for this video. Again, I wish more fans would do this..

Right on, thanks for the kind words! I started doing these because from the time I saw my first concert in Mexico in 2003, I was amazed by the bootleg merch market. I only started doing tours of the official merch stands at Iron Maiden last year to show how expensive they were, and that they were empty, but also because yeah, it's good for some people to know what they have and how much everything is before going in. As for Rod and Maiden not liking it, I don't know. But Metallica and Pearl Jam have both given the Mexican bootleg merch their seal of approval in the official DVDs, and I have personally have seen band members, managment and crew from Guns N' Roses, Soundgarden and Down out touring the stands an loading up.

In the mexican bootleg market you can find total shit and merch that is absolutely five stars and surpasses the original merch. Guaranteed. I own both official and bootlegs, and many people around the world ask me constantly where I got em. There are bootlegers from México that are travelling nowadays to the european festivals each summer with their merch, and the fans go crazy buying.

I confirm your point dude, I'm mexican living in the U.S. And I have bought a few shirts at the venues directly from the bands' merch table, and the quality of the shirts and its printing are quite bad if you compare them against the mexican bootlegs.In the case of Megadeth's cyber army shirts what I used to buy, it was an unpleasant experience to see that the shirt actually, was printed and manufactured in Mexico, and after 2 or 3 washing cycles, the printings almost vanished. So, I stopped myself from buying official shirts every time I was able to. TBH, I have ordered a few shirts from mexican sellers through internet stores at half the price or less, or when I go to Mexico, I stop and by at El Chopo or another market

wow man. I gotta say u look young for 47 . I am 34. I seenmaiden bout 10-11 times first time was w dio n Motor H 2003 I traveled. then i saw 3 nights on the D O D tour. My fav band by far. Bootlegs shirts r gr8 for fans . I know the band gets fukt uz they gotta shell out lotta money to sell merch der also. But man im a real fan and even i buy the bootlegs cuz some r just as good and end of day im rockin it to th gym not displaying or hoardin it for later in life profit. I know the msg shirts were super rare and people were buying for 30 and makin 100 a pop on ebay good 4 them !

Cool vid as always Dan! I think Iron Maiden is the favorite band of the Mexican bootleg makers (I don't even know if that's a correct sentence haha) 'cause they always make a lot of cool stuff!
