Iron Maiden and Metallica have stood the test of time when it comes to performing for many years. Maiden will always be my favorite. Metallica was phenomenal up to the Black album.

Don't worry about that, all been there.. well at kleasdt I have plenty times before! There's a lot out there (great bands) to just enjoy, I like a strange mix. I like Nick Cave hugely and Iggy Pop, but then Maiden were my band since I was a little kid so... oh and Motorhead. I'm actually just getting more into Metallica now in a big way. But yeah, enjoying these videos a great deal, good job man, all the best, subbed and looking fwd to more!

Nicko...sucha a great drummer!! The way he cascade after every sentence. And yes..I love metallica, megadeth, but maiden is the best musical act ever. My favorite band of course !!Check Iron Maiden Rimes of the ancient mariner live at long beach 1985. My entire neighborhood became a maiden fan thanks to that video. I dare you to check it!!!

Hey man, if you liked this I recommend Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera Live at The Rainbow 1980

As much as I like Phantom of the Opera, that 80 live show just doesn't have enough kick to it, IMO. I'd say Rime of the Ancient Mariner from Flight 666 is even more epic.

love this song! Maiden was my first concert - saw them in '85 when I was 12. I lost track of them because I hated Seventh Son but got back into them in 2000 and now think Seventh Son is one of the best metal albums ever.

Maiden kills it live. They bring off these sprawling epics like it's easy. So much drama, such great musicianship. I don't know if anyone really understands how Bruce can pull off those soaring vocals night after night. I don't subscribe to comparing bands. Each one has their own qualities, and Maiden plays a much different sort of metal than Metallica. I believe one can appreciate both bands for the great work they've done.

+Ruben Buijs Welcome to Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden and Metallica are my 1a and 1b of favorite bands, period, in that order...... one of the reasons for that order is their post 2000 discographies, Maiden has put out some of my absolute favorite albums (Dance of Death and A Matter of Life and Death), whereas Metallica has been a lot spottier (I do really love the new album, overall, but am curious to see how well it ages). I'd be curious how you would stack up "The Trooper" (Iron Maiden) vs "For Whom the Bell Tolls" (Metallica) as fast historical war songs, and then "Hallowed Be Thy Name" (Iron Maiden) vs "Fade to Black" (Metallica). Those are my favorite fast and slow songs from each band, and even the subject matter of each is pretty close.

that is why I prefer footage shot by fans in the crowd with their fans, at least you can see the band and the musicians, instead of these "official" DVDs where you get 100 shots per minute; it makes me fucking dizzy

Well Bruce has a way to make his songs like stories seen through the eyes of some one there like this song about the battle that happened in world war one in this town where there was constant shelling where at the height of the battle the artillery fire sounded like a never ending rumble so constant and Bruce tells this story so well so I would have to pick Iron Maiden over Metallica

i think Maiden is the superior band, becasue they have an more constant level of songwriting and release of albums. and certainly live i believe Maiden is in better shape then metallica. Lars is not doin all the parts from the older songs. Kirk is srewing up solos James his voice isnt what it used to be( rumor has it both james and kirk have arthritis) . dont get me wrong i really dig metallica. But albums wise and live wise i think Maiden tops Metallica in an big way. Yes both bands had trouble in the 90ys with their album releases. Maiden becasue Bruce left in 1993, and his Blazy Bayley hadnt Bruce his reach. Still The X Factor and Virtual XI were decent albums. Metallica had some nice songs on Load and reload too. yet Metallica changed their sound drasticly with those albums, creating more of an Rocksound. If you really want to get more into Miaden i should start from their first album called Iron Maiden and go from year to year. Dont forget to include the live albums. Maiden Japan ( With Paul Dí anno and try to find the 17 songs version i have it pm me if you want it) and dont forget to include Beast over Hammersmith ( with Bruce dickinson Recorded 3 weeks before they released The number of the beast album ihave this Livealbum as well again pm me)

Iron Maiden has and will stand the test of time........Metallica sold out after And Justice For All.......Maiden NEVER changed their sound unlike Metallica, who went soft then tried to come back hard.......from the thrash metal 80's to gereactric metal and back.......hey Hetfield, take notes......dont have to be a sell out and change your music to sell records......Maiden seems to be doing fine........and, oh yeah, Maiden had their OWN jet which, oh yeah, is Ed Force One and, oh that's right, BRUCE IS THE FUCKING PILOT!!!! That's fucking metal!!!!!

Yeah, except the ones with Blaze on vocals, I positively hate that era of Iron Maiden. Many Iron Maiden songs follows the same structure and that's a good thing if you are a fan of said structure. I am not. Then again, Iron Maiden is a quality band obviously able to recreate and even enhance their studio material in a live setting. The intro to this song is a good example of that.
@FarazOloumi7 жыл бұрын
Well of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, and while I understand you not liking the Blaze-era Maiden (I love X-Factor), this is the first time I'm hearing someone say Maiden's songs sound the same! In any case, at the end of the day, a lot of what we perceive as music is subjective.
