LYRICS [Intro] White man came across the sea He brought us pain and misery He killed our tribes, killed our creed He took our game for his own need We fought him hard, we fought him well Out on the plains we gave him hell But many came too much for Cree Oh will we ever be set free? [Verse 1] Riding through dust clouds and barren wastes Galloping hard on the plains Chasing the redskins back to their holes Fighting them at their own game Murder for freedom the stab in the back Women and children are cowards attack [Chorus] Run to the hills, run for your lives Run to the hills, run for your lives [Verse 2] Soldier blue in the barren wastes Hunting and killing's a game Raping the women and wasting the men The only good Injuns are tame Selling them whiskey and taking their gold Enslaving the young and destroying the old [Chorus] Run to the hills, run for your lives Run to the hills, run for your lives [Guitar Solo] [Chorus] Run to the hills, run for your lives Run to the hills, run for your lives Run to the hills, run for your lives Run to the hills, run for your lives

It was all about the grounds they were hunting on tho, at least on the plains. A lot of tribes have conflicts with other tribes but in all honesty we never massacred each other at all, unless they did something truly unspeakable and in need absolute need of retaliation (which even then native on native massacres didnt really happen as often as presumed), and even then we didnt just go in and start killing willy nilly. What you find is that theres an underlying respect for each other, even if it isnt pronounced.

life is better with good music. not like there's no new decent tunes or everything the 80's spat out was pure gold, just that in 30 years i see this still being played and re-re-re-discovered and current songs will fade into obscurity. then again, rock is about attitude, energy, virtuosity and singularity, so that's just one reason why it stands the test of time.

Have you ever wondered where your soul goes after this life? We are sinners despite any tiny sins we commit like lying, bad thoughts, or cussing. It doesn't even matter how many good deeds we do because one little sin is bad enough already. We cannot make it up to heaven on our own will. Our God, Jesus Christ, decided to come down to Earth as a SINLESS human and sacrificed His life for our sins. Then He resurrected three days later! Therefore if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Savior, you'll definitely have eternal life. Your existence is proof that God is real. Consider this: A creation like you have a Creator. Only in the Bible does it mention that God is the Creator of mankind. God is the only one who can create your body, your organs, your features, your blood, and fingerprints. That is why nobody has the same finger prints nor DNA as you. YOU ARE UNIQUE THANKS TO OUR GOD, JESUS CHRIST! Have a great day!

Saxon,Judas Priest Tank,Mötorhead,Diamond Head,Blitzkrieg,and Angel Witch we're all sort of similar. Good amount of British Music from The 80s was in this perticular style of metal. Still cool stuff though. For American Consumers before Black Metal existed (not counting Venom as Black Metal because it just isn't) yeah as most of those weren't really as popular in America save for Mötorhead and Judas Priest although both Anthrax and Metallica took a lot of ques from these bands.

This album and song was released a day after I turned 17. But it is the first time I have seen this video-clip. Songs of bands like Iron Maiden weren't played on the radio in 1982 and definitely not shown on TV. We exchanged tapes, bought records and T-shirts, subscribed on NWOBHM-fanzines and went to their live concerts.

@Samplesurfer2 жыл бұрын
@@kimpony Interesting. MTV only started broadcasting in Europe in the second half of the eighties. That was several years after this record and video was released. Terrestrial Radio and TV-stations in Europe hardly played or showed hard rock and Heavy Metal, except for a few obscure programs relegated to unpopular hours. Most NWoBHM did tour on the Continent and played in big "venues". But those venues were often the cattle market hall the next day. The peculiar thing is that those few obscure radio-programs and TV-shows in Europe were the actual "break through channels" for now world famous American bands: Twisted Sister, Metallica, Beastie Boys and Nirvana (before Nevermind), all had airplay and already hit large or even big stages in Europe before they genuinely got famous in the USA. It is different when the first Twisted Sister songs you ever heard were "Destroyer" and "Tear it Loose", and not I wanna Rock or We're not gonna take it. Maiden for me is far more the band from the Iron Maiden and Killers album and the live EP with Paul di Anno. The one with the "Thatcher and Eddie" cover that was allowed on the Continent but forbidden in the UK. The live version of Drifter on that EP was a very good recording of the atmosphere during concerts in that era. The Number of the Beast and Piece of Mind were excellent albums. But I lost most of my interest with Powerslave. It became a bit too much a rehash of what they had done before.

My friends and I had heard the first Maiden records and liked the instruments. Then we heard "Number of the Beast" and it was shocking. Bruce's voice put metal on a new plane. Then one of my friends was practically having a heart attack when she raced in with their LP. She put this song on and it absolutely blew us away. There we were a bunch of Natives on the rez listening to Bruce sing about us! To put this into perspective, think of the year Survivor released "Eye of the Tiger," and how that song was a daily play in Philadelphia. For us, "Run To The Hills" is still daily play. When I saw them do this in concert, it was beyond words
