Timeline is everything. That album came out when I was in seventh grade. And it is still my favorite maiden album.

In some ways, this was peak Maiden for me. I love the mystical themes in here. The production is great. It was definitely them pushing into a more polished melodic sound. For me, it's a top 5 album of theirs. I like everything on this album even Can I play with Madness is a fun ride, but I have to admit, the cheese level on that one is a bit high. 8. Can I Play with Madness 7. The Evil That Men Do 6. Only the Good Die Young 5. Clairvoyant 4. The Prophecy 3. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 2. Infinite Dreams 1. Moonchild

Important album for me as it was a fresh release when I got into the band in 1988 (I was twelve at the time). I would only put Powerslave and The Number Of The Beast above Seventh Son. Piece Of Mind and Somewhere In Time are usually no. 4 and 5 when I rank Maiden albums. After that, the Di’Anno albums (which I like, but I think Iron Maiden became more interesting when Dickinson joined. They used to write two-dimensional (or black and white) songs, but when Bruce joined they started crafting multi-dimensional and cinematic songs). Right! The ranking of this album: 1 - Moonchild (10) 2 - Only The Good Die Young (9.5) 3 - Seventh Son (9) 4 - The Evil That Men Do (8.5) 5 - Infinite Dreams (8.5) 6 - The Clairvoyant (7.5) (the chorus of Clairvoyant is what drags it down for me; too repetitive…) 7 - The Prophecy (7) 8 - Can I Play With Madness (6)

Same here, people rave about Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son but other than a few cool things here and there I just have never been able to fully grab these two albums. That said, my favorite Maiden song might actually be caught somewhere in Time. My fave Maiden albums are also those first 6 including Live after death

I discovered Iron Maiden because of that album. It's my favorite (tied with Somewhere in Time). Nope. Not a typical fan either. Here's my list: 1. 7th Son 2. The Evil That Man Do (hate the live versions) 3. Can I Play with Madness 4. Only the Good Die Young 5. Moon Child 6. The Clarvoyant 7. Infinite Dreams 8. The Prophecy

It's probably my favorite Iron Maiden album too lol. My first time seeing them was on the Maiden England tour in 2012. I love it. But i understand why you aren't into it. Here's my ranking: 8. Can I Play with Madness 7. Only the Good Die Young 6. The Proohecy 5. Moonchild 4. Infinite Dreams 3. The Clairvoyant 2. The Evil That Men Do 1. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son But its my favorite album so i love every song. 🤘

3:40 Love every song on that album.just as much as the first 3 studio albums. Anything after that was not that great anymore no prayer for the dying and fear of the dark had some good songs, but they also had more fillers than good songs on those records. ....imho

This is depressing. I came way late to the Maiden party. Missed 'Slave', missed 'Time', had to settle for THIS tour. God I wish someone would have dragged my 13 year-old a$$ to 'Powerslave'. It's the absolute pinnacle of live Iron Maiden. The straight-up West End theater set and backdrops, tons of cool practical FX, and a giant Eddie torso with exploding eyes. Fvck me...

All the early 80's bands were scrambling trying to put out something different around this time. Guns N' Roses had arrived and only Metallica could counter them. I think motley were doing pretty good in their own way as well.

This was their last great studio & Bruce Bruce album...his voice changed after this album...plus losing Adrian was a bigger blow than losing Dickinson...to me anyways... Twinkle toes Gers isn't even close to Smith's playing...he did contribute some decent co writing on some of the songs...but like I said after Adrian left... they started going downhill and never recovered...😐
