ABOUT IRON MAIDEN:
Iron Maiden are an institution. Over the course of six decades they have come to embody a spirit of fearless creative independence, ferocious dedication to their fans, and a cheerful indifference to their critics that’s won them a following that spans every culture, generation, and time-zone. A story of gritty determination and courageous defiance of the naysayers, theirs has been an adventure like no other.
The band’s immense discography includes the studio albums ‘The Number Of The Beast’, ‘Piece Of Mind’, ‘Powerslave, ‘Somewhere In Time’, ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’, ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘The Final Frontier’ and ‘The Book Of Souls’ which have spawned many classic hits as ‘The Trooper’, ‘Wasted Years’, ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’, ‘Wasting Love’, ‘Run To The Hills’, ‘Aces High’, ‘Rime Of The Ancient Mariner’ and ‘2 Minutes to Midnight’.

No prayer for the dying was my first CD ever! My dad brought it to me just because I liked the cover art, I was like, 5 or 7. As soon as the album started playing I was stonned, my mouth was all open. My brothers said "wow what a shitty music haha" and I didn't care. I listenned to it with full attention till the end. That was the first time I listened to metal music, today I'm a metalhead, I watched more than 1 Iron Maiden show, some of my most precious friends I just got to met because of this passion. Lots o' good memories, and it all started because of that music and that album. Up the irons!

The Number of the Beast was my very first metal and Maiden album. And believe it or not I thought it sucked ass at first and just left it there for months. One day I decided to listen to it again for no reason and it blew my fucking mind, I was like holy mother of fuck how did I not hear this before? Man as soon as Hallowed be thy name was over I was back to Invaders all over again, hahah good times

I was in a rough school and being on the small side and studious (with a defensively big mouth and stinging wit to boot which probably didn't help) I got bullied like crazy. By the time I was 13, in 1990, one of the few other guys who'd looked out for me had to leave and when he did he gave me a tape with Powerslave on one side and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son on the other. I started listening to it a few nights later after a bad day and... well, I was so damned blown away that I've never looked back in the 27 years since. \m/ all the way. I can like and get on with other stuff, other genres... I guess I'm as eclectic in musical taste as I was in reading... but I forever turn again to the \m/

Sadly an album that suffered from the decision to record it in Steve Harris's barn using the Rolling Stones old mobile recording van, the album would have been so much better in the studio and as for 7th son an album that was almost prog rock in some of the material and probably the nadir of the concept album for Maiden.

I honestly don’t know why No Prayer For The Dying got absolutely panned by the press and fans alike. As great as their more epic and complex 80’s albums such as Powerslave (1984), Somewhere In Time (1986) and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (1988) were, it was incredible to see them return to a raw and fast street metal style on this album. Fear of the Dark is a masterpiece as well.

Considering this is the first album without Adrian Smith, while at the same time taking a new (and often dismissed) era of their sound, this song absolutely shines with that section that starts 2 minutes in where they manage to fit nearly their entire discography into the next 60 seconds, between the groovy killers riffing and a Murray solo straight out of seventh son.

in a weird way. ive always seen Tailgunner as a sequel to Aces High. Also No Prayer For the Dying deserves a lot more respect

The first time I heard Iron maiden was the piece of mind album and I was blown away at the musicianship and the story telling, I've been a fan ever since and have every album, they are the greatest metal band ever in many ways, I finally got to see them live in 2016 at the Tacoma dome and I will never forget how amazing they were live. Sincerely Lorenzo gig harbor Washington.

3:20 "Now that this Tailgunner's gone No more Bombers / just one big bomb...yahooo!!" --> Thats a reference to Dr Strangelove by Kubrick, when Major T.J. "King" Kong screams of joy sitting on the bomb he has just been able to unload from the plane. Can we say Tailgunner is a masterpiece?

Essa música é foda demais. Marcou uma época. Pena que não é tão tocada nos shows. Tem uma pegada sinistra, obscura é espetacular!
