Hey so I have been working for months and since I am only 12 this has taken me longer than these other people. But I do have a question and if you got back to me that would be nice. Are the eyes supposed to dim when I turn the pointmeter? I am using the code from the eye pdf. I'm not talking about the eyes instruction video I mean the wiring video in which I hook up the eyes to the Arduino.

So I just finished my first attempt at this project and would like to add some feedback and points for others who attempting this project for the first time. First off thank you so much for putting this out, everything works perfectly, the documents gives proper information and your build videos are very helpful! Sizing Ring - If you are unsure if its too tight for your head, scale it up by a bit. The padding will help make up the difference. I have a very fat head and cheeks, so when I assembled mine at stock scale it was a little too right for my liking (remember there are components inside that need room as well) Electronics - The code is correct, if you are having any issues it is most likely your hardware. One thing some other comments I've seen and I have also experienced is the servos seems to try to continue to turn instead of a full stop when the face plate is closed, creating a sound and generating some heat. Not sure if its an hardware issue or a coding issue. Eyes - With the new coding for the lights turning off when the face plate is up, this has made the potentiometer no longer "work" when the eyes are lit up. Adjusting the brightness now requires you turn the knob, reset the face plate, see brightness and then repeat. Servos - He designed this helmet to have all components contained in the helmet, however this means that the battery life will be very limited. if you want to change less batteries, consider using a separate power source for the servos. I plan on doing this and hiding the power source down the back of my shirt to my pants pocket. Thanks again so much! I am looking forward to building my 2nd one that properly fits my fat head!

@@BoxandLoop yeah maybe mine came with slightly different parts, there's 3 silver tapping screws, same size, those screw the piece in place just fine, then there's 2 very small black screws, they will screw the top white plastic parts to the servo but they are not long enough to screw the plastic part on top as well.

Hello sir, first of all thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial it is a dream come true for me to make this helmet. I'm trying to use the two servos to lift the faceplate up because my faceplate (handcrafted) was too heavy (2 servos in the left and right of the helmet mirroring each other's movement) I tried to change some things in the codes to achieve that and it did. Only problem is that the first phase when turning on the electronics, the two servos tend to go opposite to each other, trying to get in position like in the original setup and then it work. I have no proper knowledge on arduino codes and I might be asking too much, but it will be very great if you can suggest some tips on what should I change on the codes to make the 2 servos mirror each other's movements properly. Thank you again for this wonderful and free tutorial! 🙏
@geebsawn1605
@geebsawn1605 2 жыл бұрын
If I use the original setup for the servos, the 1 servo on the head isn't enough to lift the faceplate. I mean it can lift the helmet, but the faceplates lifts unbalanced which makes it go slanted while moving up and down.

am i the only one who´s having troubles withe arduino code? when i verify the code it tells me that the library #include "ServoEasing.h" it doesn´t exist. And even when i fix it putting the normal servo library #include it says that the code has so much multiple errors more. what should i do? And sorry for my speaking, i´m not a native speaker

Sure thing. Code should work, maybe ide isn't setup. Which error are you seeing?
@massimosofia1034
@massimosofia1034 2 жыл бұрын
The right command is #include "ServoEasing.hpp" worked with no errors instead of #include "ServoEasing.h"

How do you see with the LED strips blinding you? are there slits under/over them for viewing?
@BoxandLoop
@BoxandLoop 3 жыл бұрын
If you turn down the brightness, you can see through them. Full brightness is for photos, not so much for seeing.

Final parts about 600grams. Supports can add up to a full spool or more, depends on your printing setup

Thank you. Hinges were part of the design process, but in the end not necessary. Double swing arms on servos seem to give enough accuracy with a cleaner look.
