Two conveyor belts face one another and sandwich the ore to pull it up out from below the hoppers in the ship and into the boom. NO I do NOT want the job of maintenance on those conveyor belts. Idler and snubber rollers...all that potential energy in that vertical run of belts...no. Been there, done that. enough, already. let some other mechanic suffer through repairing rips, replacing rollers, bearings, greasing stuff, cutting and welding to repair wear and catastrophe to damaged steel in not all too pleasant positions...
