I try to keep up with the maintenance of my shoes as much as possible. I knew it was time to fix the soles. Naturally Red Wing came to mind for a third resole but seeing how Aaron was close to where I live, I wanted to give him a try. You can see in the video they needed some much needed repair, which I thought wasn’t needed. Little did I know RW didn’t do their job right. Thankfully seeing this video along with the actual shoes brings up much better clarity on what it actually takes to do a job right. I will not be questioning or wondering if Aaron did the job right. I can’t believe how much quality has been dropped from red wing. I’ve already ordered like 7 pairs and all of them have some sort of quality defect, sometimes construction too. Most part some leather quality looks and feels cheap. I get a perfect pair isn’t possible. But for handmade finished boots, you think someone would double check the work and make sure it’s as even as can be

@@AaronG2480 I’m glad a professional cobbler admits and acknowledges this and it’s not just me. At first I thought I was getting bad luck with pairs but it’s obvious after buying 6 and returning them all that they arent living up to the name. Excuse my rant but yeah it is frustrating when 3/5 pairs are defect or have issues, from leather quality, to either too tight or one loose and one tight shoe, uneven finishes on the welt, heel block coming off, “literally” I have pics for evidence. Especially after spending 350 bucks I expect minimal flaws. They bump the price from 330 to 350, but reduce quality and effort. SometimesI just want to make a video addressing this, especially when we have KZbinrs like Rose Anvil giving good reviews on red wing iron rangers. No doubt they were great boots in the early 2000’s. But he only reviews quality overall, he does not address quality control or overall evenness all round.
