43:56 corbax was in a defensive structure so I believe he would have received a 4+ cover save from that and then shrouded would make that a 2+. he is not gargantuan so he benefits from "area" terrain.

58:00 I believe Corbax doesn't actually have to physically get up there just roll the distance to reach the next level then he is counted as being in base contact with the guys above him. now that might be a holdover from 6th ed but I thought it was one of the few remaining rules about ruins and height differences that still exists.

Technically, RAW, a model actually has to make btb to successfully charge. If there is no room to place the model, then the model can't get btb and therefore can't charge. What he did was a bit janky but if both players agree to it then whatever. I think most people, myself included, play it the exact way you describe.

Well it doesn't appear to have a specific ruling on that anymore (at least that I can see) but it could be argued that wobbly model syndrome could cover this instance if there is any space. still the lack of rules for ruins in 7th edition has been an issue. though if they are still using the rules where blasts only hit certain levels (another 6th edition rule) then the specific ability to charge models directly above you should still apply to their games.

Oh and this is mostly just for a laugh but that is a wall they were in btb with so by the rules for walls you just have to make it into btb with the wall to charge them.😉

Wobbly Model Syndrome can indeed be used to argue it and has been used to do so many times. Not sure how effectively though. It can indeed be used with walls lol. I think it is pretty much the same thing as 5th editions (?) rule about how models draw line of sight through their eyes. Some models don't have eyes. RAW they cannot draw line of sight. I mean, everyone knew how it should be played, but if someone really wanted to argue it they could and they would "technically" be right. As I said, my group realizes that the rules aren't air tight and that a bit of abstraction is needed.

I know it's annoying, and you did address it when you were introducing the Daemon forces, but you really do need to have models picked out to be "the" icon and musician models, they have effects beyond simply effecting Deep Strike, and those effects end when the model carrying the item is killed.

Corbax ignores terrain so he can just waddle up wherever he wants. also when he dies you center a massive blast over him that is poisoned 4+ ap4.

that's not a restriction any more. reserves come in one at a time now just like regular movement, just have to complete their moves before you start moving the rest of your army. the only homers I know of that require that are the SM ones because they actually say it in their rules. daemons and Tau do not.

Great looking armies! Are we going to see a video about Traitor's Hate any time soon, how it can be used to good effect etc? As a new 40K player who chose CSM purely on looks, it's disheartening to see so many people saying they suck. Would be nice to have some viable ideas to build an army upon.

Titan 1987 It's a new supplement book for Chaos Space Marines. Has some new formations, some updated rules, new psychic disciplines and rules for renegade knights plus other stuff. Oh and updated rules for Kharn the Betrayer.

They don't suck dude, it's just they can't really be played top top tier like Eldar, Tau or the loyalists. Although Traitor's hate wasn't outstanding, there are some strong, fluffy builds to use in games; when people say they're rubbish they mean 'i can't spam scatter bikes with them oh no' :)

27:30 when the daemonettes deepstruck they weren't able to be in actual btb contact and would mishap by RAW. guessing you guys allow for some abstraction on that though. as a question how do you guys play a ruined wall section of the like? do you go around it or do you call it a mishap?

I think they are going with some abstraction. I mean, technically he could have placed them in btb, it just would have been a bit wonky due to the terrain. My group does the same thing.

Price of failure is always in play unless otherwise written (as in Denial, book 6). Some missions just choose to write it and others don't, read under Price of failure in any chosen red book.

In 30k, you can draw line of sight from anyone with a Nuncio Vox. Tactical squads can take them and for Iron Warriors, it only makes sense to take as many as possible :)

Actually it did. now only Space Marine Homers require you to be on the board a turn before. they specifically say that is required. 7th ed change I believe.

It's usually a thing in MWG games that a player loses by putting all fire of an entire round into a creature with ++3 or invisibility or something.. Seen it many many times. Admittedly, it wasn't Steve's fault this time cuz ... no other targets :)) Very interesting batrep and props for the 2 days it prolly took to make :)

honestly avoided battle reports for the longest time, Id say Im still new to the Warhammer 40k thing, I know the lore behind most factions. but never did the table top. although I have no clue what you guys are talking about when it comes to attacks (roll d20 DnD) this was entertaining to watch.

Pick up the Betrayal at Calth box if you haven't already. That is an amazing starting box that is, in comparison to forge world, relatively cheap. In terms of legion - each legion has their own rules and limitations. If you download Battlescribe on either desktop or mobile, it'll tell you each rule and limitation. What i mean by limitation are the organisation of the Space Wolves, the speed of the White Scars, etc. There are some units that are not as freely available to some legions as there are others

If I remember Path of Glory vid 1, they rolled random Chaos Gods, so no keeping out Slaanesh. Also, with the new daemonettes, there's really nothing sexy about Slaanesh. Quite the opposite :(

He's 1,000 points. And you're only allowed to take him in 4,000 pt+ games. He has a chance to screw up and give your opponent the template instead. He only has a chance to get the 2+ re roll. He also hinders your army's maneuverability if you have greater daemons.

DevilsTom Yep, i took black spear stirke force with: 2 corvus blackstars (1 anty tank another vs inf), 1 watch master, 2 squads of veterats bouth had 4 shotguns and 2 frag cannons, 2 aquilla killteams (1st was 8 man squad with 7 stalker pattern boltguns and 1 lvl 2 librarian, second was a 7 man unit with 6 combi-meltas and 6 stormshealds and 1 librarian lvl 2) For a formation rule i had all my infantry able to deepstrike.

Yes it is. 30K D is considered to be S10, ignore cover, instant death and successful inv saves MUST be re-rolled

I think big bird is Aetaos'rau'keres. Looks like some Greek I know, "aetos" being the (latinised) spelling for eagle seeming similar, and if it is somewhat inspired by that then it *might* be pronounced "ay-tay-ohs'r-ow'keh-ree-s". Just my thoughts.

Close, however since you're using latin as your root (probably accurate considering GW's fascination for faux latinatium) there is a certain rule known as vocal bridge. The correct way would be Eh-ttay-ohs'r-ow'keh-ree-s. congrats at least on getting it that close.
