Welcome back SN Community! We are back for another Horus Heresy report! We go into part 2 of the battle on Hydra Condatus, where the valiant Imperial Fists face another assault from the traitorous Iron Warriors as both armies bring some much needed reinforcements to the battlefield.

I don't get super excited very often, keeping it very cool in '22, but this is great!! Warsmith Kroeger at Hydra Cordatus is where I fell back in love with 40k. After 20 years! I'm a month late to the party,so odds are these have been pointed out, but I ouldn't see it in the comments so far so for posterity's sake: In the combat with bob, the Praetor and the IW tactical squad, every member of the squad would have been within attacking range, as it is "any model within coherency of a model in base contact" so essentially marines can attack in 3 ranks, and models can always attack into a combat if there are no other valid targets! Fantastic batrep so far though guys!

I'm not sure Pedro's army is legal with Pride of the Legion (as it lock you behind 1 Heavy Support choice only). But outside of that, amazing battle report. I'm really glad to see more Horus Heresy on your channel !

Another one for other games. When the big IW robots failed their charge, i think they needed to make a 'surge' move which is half what they rolled, in this case 3" towards the leviathan. Probably did not make much difference here but could be huge for other situations e.g. you could use a charge to deny an objective even if you dont make combat.

Another big one guys and you'll wanna remember this DC with your libby. When Pardo charged your terminators in his turm you both assumed because in your turn you cast the biomancy power that they were still S5 T5 in pardo's turn. They are not, they only stay T5 S5 to the end of 'your' turn. So if in another game you cast this power and then it came to pardo's turn and they were shot at by pardo they would be back to s4 t4. This power is not the no brainer it looks at first glance :D

This is why I think the telepathy discipline is more interesting. One power denies reactions in any phase and the other power is almost a guaranteed pinned which works well with his shrapnel bolters.

Brilliant battle report! DC when you issued the challenge with your 2 powerfist sargeants you could have hung back with them taken the casualties on regular chaps then hit his praetor with power fist as he didn’t challenge. Also when you call all other combatants out of squad in challenge then the rest of the squad can attack the lone survivor of a challenge

@@sn_dc oh yeah challenges are great fun and cinematic. It’s hard coming from playing competitively in 40k to not do the optimal thing but most fun had playing HH narratively. Just finished a 10k pt ironwarriors army and warhound that I’ve been meaning to use on table top for ages

Great watch guys - just one small thing, specialist weapon doesn't stop you from getting +1 attack on charge, just for having 2 melee weapons unless both are specialist

Nice to see an other heresy bat rep . Really enjoy that set of rules so far and great battle report as usual. That was way much closer than I expected at the end. That huge new tank was super desapointing , being in the corner outside of the fram was perfect for it. From my understanding I think that you dealt with precision shots incorrectly turn one . It's on hits rolls that you make the pool of precision shots as you did, but it's only after the wound roll of those shots that you choose the target and since you do one model at a time until he dies, there is no shot lost like you did by rolling a successful wound roll for a model already dead from an other dice. making it stronger that the way you played it. might not have changed much on the end result tho. I might be wrong but that's the way I read it. later on cataphractii termis and most termi characters ( here the librarian ) have Inexorable, so they don't suffer any negative modifier when taking leadership test ( except from Fear special rule, and anathema and corrupted sub-type ) , it should apply to the leadership test after loosing a fight? If I get it correct, it's if the entier unit has the rule. And the preator in artificer armor don't have it. But he died right in that fight or something like that. Seems also that models outside of a challenge can allocate wounds on the model in the challenge if there is no other models avaliable "outside forces" p199 even if it didn't change anything here. Just a note on the rending thing with the autocannons against the rhino. They could never make it explode as you don't count a rending hits AP2 on the damage table, so no plus 1.

So you do get a 7+6+d3 but its ap4, 20 iron havocs hitting on 2's is still brutal though! Loads of little things you need to check that you might miss in these books!, like are those iron warrior dudes 'heavy'? because if they are they can re-roll their save vs template weapons

Cheers! Iron without, iron within! What terrain do you use for your battle reports? It looks amazing! Also I’m wondering, I think that Tyrant Siege terminators missile launchers may be twin-linked now. Additionally I think that the special rules for Iron Circle state that if you attach a character to them at the start of the game you cannot separate them at any point unless all of the Iron Circle have been killed.

And the Iron Circle were just an elite choice rather and a Retinue so from what I could see the Warsmith could attached and leave the unit like any other - unless they are with Pert then they stick with him ⛓ thanks again!! 👊

Pardo: what is the black paint and/or matt varnish that has been used on the Kratos tank? The effect looks fantastic. It's not so rich that it still shows a truer black in the recesses yet is still looks like a black. i could notice the comparison against a true black against the leviathan at around 4:41 in the vid. I would love to know and would like to try this myself. many thanks.

Great game guys I'm always left wondering what the iron circle are supposed to be for in game, they look cool but for 300pts they don't seem to do enough work for DC, Then they survived which was enough to win the game so what do I know 😂- I'd still take more terminators over iron circle

At 28:55 you shot with your tactical squad that had been pinned, they should only be able to snap fire until the end of your turn.

The phosphex vs Iron Circle, since they are automata you need to reroll successful wounds from phosphex and other poison weapons.

Thanks glad you enjoyed! For them to be important in the game I needed them up close and personal using the cráter they had some cover as well. Where would you have put them?

@@SNBattleReports the deploy is so 40k 8/9ed format. In a HH game is best to protect your troops in ruins, or at least put the models not so together because the blasts. Probably, I would have protect the troops in the ruins/terrains at the begining, for the later game.

@@Castello201 but they would be very far away also a ruin acts the same as a crator as well. I did space them out as much as I would really still staying in the crator. This isn’t a 40k deployment at all brother 40k is all about hiding away as much as possible behind obscuring terrain

Hey pardo I don't believe your praetor would be targetable when he got fisted. You allocate wounds to the unit and then you (the defending player) choose which models take the wounds. This is ignored when they have the rule precision shots/strikes and challenges.

@@SNBattleReports try out veterans with nemesis bolters! They are really good with imperial fist. Hitting on 2 and relentsless so can move and shoot. You can just use the regular tacticals.

Why would dreads need you to reroll wounds from poison weapons but the cybernetica units that have even less fleshy bits not make you do the same lol.

That’s what I thought haha but they do make you re-roll! We catch it shortly after if I recall. Personally seems strange it would have any effect - exactly as you said they are all robot!

Also Also XD (sorry you must think i'm 'that guy') the termies charging the dread would get three attacks each (2 normal +1 for charging). They dont have specialist weapons they have unwieldy ones. Even if they were specialist that would not stop them getting the +1 either. Specialist = only get +1 for having two weapons if both weapons are specialist, unweildy = fight at I step 1 so neither stop you getting +1 attack on the charge.

Lovely table, lovely armies, lovely game. If I may propose some opinions : It would have been nice to have someone else doing the filming. The camera is wavy, some details are missed, and we only see one side of the lovely table. This is only because one person is doing a lot, too much even. A commendable effort, very Iron warrior :) Some editing speeding up could have been mildly useful too. The armies aren't perfectly Wysiwyg, which is fine, but what's the limit of acceptability ? Can a plasma pistol be an disintegrator pistol ? can a volkite culverin be a lascannon? Is artificer armour just +10points for every sergeant or should it actually look like unique artificier crafted armour ? At 2500pts, why no Primarchs? This is just out of curiosity, not a cynical question, I mean, I don't feel the need to have a primarch in every game, but they are pretty powerful and in 2500 point games they'll make a big impact. I know some people, given the chance would take a primarch every time.

Glad you enjoyed it. About the third person with 7 years experience in this is sometimes more difficult to have an extra person in the studio we also need to use a different sound system that isn’t that good. What parts did we miss im curious now lol. When you say the armies are not perfectly WYSIWYG which parts are that we are normally very very strict with that.

about the primarchs with it being out first reports of HH after years we are slowly putting different things in and will be incorporating primarchs later on probably at 3000pts

@@SNBattleReports I really don't want to be nit picky on your youtube videos. It's fine. Well it's fine if you have a quantifiable limit on what is and what isn't WYSIWYG. For example that yellow praetor visibly has a volkite serpenta. Considering the targetter, it's probably master crafted, but volkite isn't archeotech. Those yellow tactical squad sergeants are clearly wearing normal non modified MkVI armour, there are absolutely no artificer embellishments at all. It's stock MkVI. But you see these are nitpicks, minor discrepancies. If you define where the line is drawn that's fine. I mean even GW/FW changed the Moritat weapons so the official models are wrong. On the other hand it is very possible to make armour look artificier, and a voltike serpenta could be modified to look a bit more esoteric.

@@azoxystrobin yeah that’s far too picky for us with the Arrificier armour as it really does state exactly how it looks. As for the pistol thanks as I actually didn’t know it was that gun so awesome. We do go strict wysiwig and would have used the correct pistol if I knew it was that one sorry

Okay am I missing something? You have built a pride of the Legion right of war twice and then done nothing with it. You didn't take veterans (which can be taken as troops) at all in either list and you took your termis as elites instead of troops (which the RoW let's you do). So why take pride of the legion? Just to say you are running a RoW? Because you don't have to run a RoW
