I was looking for a video how to program the Esc with the remote control, because I did not want to buy a program card for 2 settings I need, so I could program my ESC Flycolor 30A in my electric glider, the Beep tones I had not well understood in the instructions, through your video it was then quite simple, even if I did not understand every word of your dialect, but at least the sense of programming, thank you for your video and have fun with your hobby. please forgive me if someone has already mentioned this ....but the ShenZhen brand FlyColor is famously popular for producing Drone ESCs, namely their FlyDragon , Francy, Raptor & X-Cross; and also their Lightning Series RC Car ESCs which I have verified do not work with this method... I do appreciate ANYONE that takes their time to post instructional videos especially as well produced as yours. Maybe take the word ALL out of the title though and replace it with ""H2O" or "Boat" ESC"". Again , thank you for your taking time to produce such great quality videoas and know I am just getting into boats and you completely made my mind up to use FlyColor ESCs in my second boat!!! I got a entry level boat that i converted to brushless (very difficult since everything is glued together and so hard as nails to tear into!!! lol😅 What intermediate boat would you recommend on maybe not a shoestring budget more like a 2 shoestring budget! Would you recommend or pass on a used boat? Thank you again, even though i was watching to try on FlyColor Lightning I ended up watching the whole video getting excited for a new boat!!!!!!!😊

I can't recommend the Flycolor programming card enough. You can have It programmed in under a minute ;) Well worth what you pay for it.

I agree the card is the best way. But be warned you have to get the right card. They are copied a lot, many look the same and many don't work.

I noticed your flying escs, and since you're using them, I grabbed a couple of 150. Going for torque with moderate run.30, 35 ish. For the hooligan feeling I use the gaser. It rocks. I had good speeds and also lots of smoke😁😁😁

Does the low voltage cut-off stop the boat dead or go into 'limp' to allow you to get to the lake / pond edge?

Usually goes into limp mode or a momentary/quick cut off

My brandnew Proboat Recoil 2 Shreddy broke my esc (hobbywing 100amp 3s-4s esc.. after 1 minute it stopped only my steering was working but no throttle. So i orderd the Flycolor 150amp esc. I hope this will hold longer on 4s

If your running the stock motor the flycolor 150 won't work with it.

@@IRONCLADRC why not, because the specs says "2s - 6s" I wont run 6s only 3s or 4s then it should not be a problem isnt it? I have allot of Rc cars running a stock 3s or 4s motor with an 150a or higher esc on it just to have over kill on amps. Why couldnt this work on a boat? (Honost question)

Hi Big B,, that's a really informative video, now comes the question,, this stuff is all new to me, my Boat can run on 4s and 6s obviously with the smaller prop for 6s I bought the boat second hand and its set to run forward and backwards which has helped on the rare occasion I've got in a tight spot, so should I alter the settings each time I want to use 4/6s batteries, it came with the 4s prop on. I had to buy the 6s prop, so I'm assuming it's setup for 7-4v, I've run it on 6s once not knowing about these adjustments, will it have come to any harm? I've just downloaded the instruction part of the manual for these settings, Your thoughts would be appreciated bro (Joysway Alpha)

No the settings should be OK switching from 4s to 6s. Unless your tinkering with timing. On 6s I'd be careful with high timing or to low of timing. Always watch your temps

Hey big B got a questions about new flycolor 90 I put in a bj24. First two runs were flawless. 3rd run, I plug battery in and try to throttle up, motor doesn’t make any revolutions, it just jitters back and forth and instantly heats up to 165° within seconds. Motor wires from esc get hot. Esc arms fine, but won’t turn motor. I replaced the esc with stock one and motor works fine. Have you seen this problem with any flycolor? Defective maybe?

Probably single phasing, Check the esc/motor connectors peel off the heat shrink on the esc/motor wires. You more than likely desoldered a bullet. If that's the case, re-solder the bullet. Also, consider upgrading the connector size to a larger bullet

Thank you for this video IronClad! Very helpful in setting up our BJ 24 with the Lepord 3660 motor. Just did some testing and had 2 questions. What will cause the ESC / Motor to cut out on a full trigger pass? Once you go back to neutral and apply trigger again it was back on. Secondly...it went into low battery protection mode but I still had 10.8 volts left in the battery. The ESC is set to 3.4 volts on the battery protection mode. Thank you bud!

More than likely it's your prop the prop may be too big for your setup go down and prop size see if it's still power cuts if it's still power cuts the KV of your motor may be too high

Been looking at these online for my bj24 cant find very many reviews on them how do you like them? Also everything ive read about the stock prop size and pitch for the bj24 is all over the place and the measurements in the manual are not what the prop on boat measures any idea what the actual pitch and size is?

Flycolor esc's are awesome that's really all I run in my boats. It's been so long since I used the stock prop I hate to tell you something wrong.

As for upgraded props for the blackjack 24 I'd definitely go with a tfl 438 or ose 438 size prop it's my go to prop. 440 is also a good one for the boat

Man I've gave you about 200 views on this video last couple days. I've been doing same thing as you but it runs the motor full throttle in the neutral position and throttle stops when I pull the trigger..I've tried the reverse switch on transmitter but same thing..almost starting to wonder if the transmitter came with the trigger wired backwards...have you ever seen that before. It's just a cheap flysky remote picked up on Amazon. You got any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Dial your dual rate down to zero. If that doesn't help dial it to zero then recalibrate the esc

I have a question, my 150a esc had throttle position warning. So if you turn your transmitter on with throttle on, instead of entering program mode, it just sits on constant beeping throttle on warning. Is there a way around the warning to get into programming mode? Thanks!

I'm fairly positive the start up beep beep beep beep beep than a musical tone is called soft start up. 2 of my boats do that with fly color and the other flycolor does not? Hope this helps if not shoot another comment

@@IRONCLADRC Unfortunately no, my start up beeping is constant and does not stop. The manual says that constant beeping on start up means the throttle lever is not in neutral position, but you have to have it at full throttle to enter program mode. I'm wondering if I may have to re-calibrate the throttle position...

You need to set your throttle dual rates to zero and go thru the start up process again

My motor makes a continuous beeping sound when I use a maytech remote and try to calibrate esc. Remote is paired and powers motor but unable to calibrate or enter programming mode.

Check the dual rate make sure it's at zero

@@IRONCLADRC it's a fairly basic remote with only throttle and brake. No way to modify or set dual rate. Motor doesn't engage till 54% throttle and remotes pwm range is 1-2ms. I'm assuming the esc starts at 1.5ms and can't be changed?

I fumbled my way through programming the flycolour 150a in my son’s Spartan. If the transmitter gets out of range of turned off while the boat batteries are hooked up. Is there a way to fix that ? We ran the boat out of range and it kept turning the prop at a reduced rpm.

thanks dude. The engrish instructions do not make it clear to hold full throttle down all the way to your selection. Also note: maybe its my remote, but neutral wasnt enough, i had to puch pistol throttle full reverse to be acknowedged by ESC.
