Love your videos!! I’m building a proboat thundercat 31 and have no clue what I’m doing. Your videos are super super helpful. Side note There’s usually a setting on editing software to change the sound on slomo videos so they don’t have that pixelated sound.

I have a question, if you use a non-specktrum ESC in a Specktrum setup, what functions do you lose with the smart functions?
@IRONCLADRC Жыл бұрын
You'll loose all your telemetry if you use a non-spektrum esc.

Other then breaking that 3-blade prop, the SW was running sweeeeeeeet. Eight now, the build-up of my second SW V1 is approx 70% complete...just waiting on some steering hardware I had forgotten, and four M4x22mm screws (for mounting the rudder & Mad Lizard Stinger adapter plate through the hull) I am curious about something - before running it on that 8S config, did you do the self-righting test (ie. placing the boat in the water upside-down, seeing if it still self-rights, and how long it takes)? Reason I'm asking is, when the SW was running straight, it looked as if it was leaning slightly to the starboard side. As I know you know, in order to self-right, it needs to lean to the port side. If you haven't tested, I'd suggest testing it before you send it back out...that way, if it's not self-righting, you'll discover this before it happens out on open water. And, if you did already test, how long did it take to flip right-side up?
@IRONCLADRC Жыл бұрын
It self-rights with heavier 4s packs (7600 150c hclhp smc) w/ the 160 firma in the stock position, it will not self-right with my lighter 5500 4s packs and if it does it takes a while. I have a recovery boat, so it doesn't really matter. Basically, it just takes a little nudge with the tug boat, and she'll flip right over.. Good luck with your build BG4L

Are you running the stock motor in your swv2 ? I was thinking about just taking the bj42 motor and esc and putting them right in my SWv2 what are your thoughts is the stock higher kv motor a better option than the stock 1350kv in the bj42? Bigger motor Bigger prop though your thoughts?

Big B, been thinking, why the hell aren't they putting ball bearings in these shafts instead of bushings and lining tubes. My blackjack 42's flex just doesn't feel free. Wouldn't bearings work better. Thanks brotha.

There's several ball bearing options available, I like the speed master styler bushing/bearing. The mini dom has a full ball bearing drive line.

No, the esc I'm running does not have a BEC (battery elenmintor circuit) it's opto, meaning it needs an external BEC or battery to power the receiver & servo

Will a EC 5 connector be OK in the sonic with the hydra X8S do you have a link to get one?

You'd be pushing it with an ec5, it would work, but you may see hot battery wires and potentially melt solder. I recommend 8mm... qs8, ec8, etc
