That job is way above my pay grade! But from what I just witnessed, you’re right, it won’t break! My man!!😊

That’s awesome Big B, the pin is the way to go. I have a set of 5 hard-wood blocks in 5 different sizes for doing just what you did, Helps clamp round stuff in my drill press, You got to be innovative in this hobby. Tinker Tune and Test, BGFL

Great job, , that is exactly what I would have done. I think the pin was in the perfect location, can’t wait to see her run.

Nice job. I'm surprised how perfectly centered you got that hole drilled.
@FAKE-NAME15 сағат бұрын
20:32 hammering on pin gave me a thought...using a hole center punch or similar to put lil dents / punch marks the entire way around the pin to help keep it in. Ive seen it used on pins before to help keep them in and seeing as how your trying to make it permanent it should help drastically.

@@IRONCLADRCif for some reason you have another issue with your shaft or coupler, I live in Mooresville and work in a machine shop. I probably have scrap metal in my tool box that I could use to make the parts. You'd just have to send me a shaft and coupler and I could make both pretty easily.

What flotation are you using? I see it’s shaped to fit. I want to do the same
@roxannakennedy389712 сағат бұрын
Just my opinion, but I would take the time to do both just in case you want to reverse rotations again.
@jimstone533915 сағат бұрын
Nope won't break but can't take it apart either. I would have done the same thing, that is after watching your video.
@stevesocransky634115 сағат бұрын
My advice is to DITCH THOSE DRIVES! - European saw runners, (MHz, hydro and marine)use stinger struts with flat bottom ride surface. OSE sells the hull with speedmaster struts. I would consult with Bill Oxidean he has usable hardware on his 60” v bottom that may work for you.
@IRONCLADRC12 сағат бұрын
Couldn't agree more! They look collet but I would much rather see a stinger and rudder mounted on the transom. Arnson drives ha e been nothing but a head ache
@minochercowasjee8 сағат бұрын
Big B , enjoyed the video. I think you have the same issue as before . Please check . Starboard prop is clockwise rotation and shaft is clockwise rotation and Pinned at thread . This one is secure even without the pin because of the prop and thread are both clockwise . Port prop is anti-clockwise rotation with clockwise shaft thread - NOT pinned . When powered the anti-clockwise spinning prop will unwind the shaft ??
@IRONCLADRC8 сағат бұрын
The clockwise spinning prop has an counter clockwise pressure being put on it while spinng and loaded up, that's the one that will unscrew out of the cup. That's the one we pinned
@minochercowasjee7 сағат бұрын
@@IRONCLADRC I had a feeling that this was the underlying principle . Thanks for spelling it out for me . For the common man it would seem that a clockwise rotating prop would have a clockwise force on the shaft . But this is not correct as you shared.

Lock tight green and it will never come apart. Even if you want it to lol
@johnbarta92833 сағат бұрын
I don't understand why this is a 2 piece assembly in the first place. This type of universal is pretty common on RC cars, and the axle/cup side is always machined out of 1 piece of steel. Crazy design choice.

Jb weld is so thick, most of it probably just threads out, not sure how strong it would be once it is that thin. I probably would have used red or green locktite. G t even is for permanent attack.ents just like the red, but is wicking so it is thin enough to apply after the parts are threaded together. Red or green will not come loos we once it is set u less you use a lot of h3at to basically melt is out.
@IRONCLADRC12 сағат бұрын
I used jb weld on .150 3/16 flex to stub shaft connections running ,4 - 6s never had a connection break.
@stevejackson356415 сағат бұрын
I know you know about Red loctite have you tried that
@IRONCLADRC11 сағат бұрын
Red loc-tite will probably work, I choose jb weld because I have had great success using it on flexcables ranging from .98-.150 flex to stub connections, Never had one come loose actually I take that back i did have one come loose because I didn't give it a full 24+ hours cure time.
