Under normal conditions once the swingarm pivot bolt was out the swingarm should have slid right off. Over the years heavy handed mechanics over tighten that big locknut and the bearing thrust washers get hung up on the frame.

I grew up in Nebraska in the 1960’s and remember the old timers talking about hay bales went first from 50 pounds to 75, then to 100. Now you have to have $250,000 of equipment to pick up those huge round bales. Classic Ironhead chopper project!

Setting up the same hardtail and ran into an issue with the axle adjusters. The colony adjusters are too wide. What did you use?

I used the same adjusters but had to run new spacers to fit in the wheel

cool video I’m new to iron heads. Do you think bolt on frame is as reliable as weld on ones?

This is my first as well. I’ve ridden about 800 miles on it with no problems. Buuuut if I was a decent welder id prolly go with the weld on lol.

I would go with a welding on hardtail frame, to prevent death wobble
