I’m surprised how nobody points out how Cane gave Gangle a chance to condemn of the others to a lower score. In this scenario, She could’ve chose Raggitha, Jax, or even Pomni because they each said something to upset her, if she did they would’ve been dropped to a lower score making one of them the worst performer and they’d get Cane’s Punishment. However, because Gangle took the loss to her score, Cane was able to adjust her score to everyone else’s so they ALL could avoid getting the punishment. This means that Cane was genuinely trying to avoid giving them the punishment, but he gave Gangle the option because it was her idea for the adventure: meaning that in the end Cane gave Gangle the call most likely because he didn’t want to follow through with the punishment himself

I'm starting to think I'm the only one who thinks Gummigoo doesn't remember Pomni. I just thought he was weirded out by this person he never met obsessing over him and using his name in casual conversation without him giving it. That sad look, to me, was discomfort and worry, and the goodbye was him trying to be nice to the lady who was clearly going through something but was at least letting him leave with a pleasantry

i too think he doesn't remember. to me these interactions show what kind of character he has. despite the confusion he's still curtious, asks if things are okay, and seemed willing to listen. he's just a good dude. given the chance i'm sure they could be friends again!

100% think this is what they were going for. Although it would be interesting to see if fragments of the version of Gummigoo that Pomni knew still linger somewhere in the code… even if that’s an unrealistic expectation.

I think him reaching for her when she mentioned his name is kind of an indication. If it JUST made him uncomfortable he would have just said something, but him slowly and uncertainly going to touch her made me think she was familiar enough that he questioned if he might have known her. Sort of a “wait DO I know you?”

When Pomni is explaining herself to Gangle and mentions Gummigoo's name despite this new version him not telling her, his model's eyes change into hollow circles which the past version of him also had after falling out of the map and gaining consciousness. So either memories of him meeting Pomni before are still somewhere in his code or we're seeing a completely new Gummigoo npc begin to question his reality.

You have to see this as a Gangle adventure. Think about this. Why would a character who's _mask_ constantly breaks (particularly, their happy one) obsess so much with normalizing themselves and their subordinates? Keep in mind, Gangle chose this adventure for themselves. Otherwise, we would have seen more interactions between her and Zooble. Gangle is most familiar with a food service environment, to the point where she was a shift manager. This is her normal. Zooble understands Gangle, because Zooble also wants to feel normal. That's why she is the most reassuring and supportive toward the beginning and end.

Fast Food service is a very mundane form of hell. You go in one day looking for a part-time work to help you when you pursue higher education or develop skills to actually do what you want with your life...but before you know it, plans fell through, you've been working at the same place for literal years and all those dreams and goals you had are stagnant or worse, just completely dead. All that potential you had is just wasted and now your slinging burgers, or dunking crap into a fryer.

I would expand it to retail in general. I went through a similar thing, dead end job, roadblocks for new training and promotions going to less qualified, less experienced workers. After a transfer to a different store was blocked by my manager (he refused to even talk to the other store, and they withdrew their offer) I finally had enough. Now I’m in a completely different industry and, while it’s still tough and not every day is perfect, I would never look back.

There are so many things to notice in this episode, from the mundane environment removing the cognitive dissocance of the situation from the characters and audience, RagathaXPomni shipping fuel, Gummigoo's expressions possibly meaning he at least started to remember, some Isekai references and questions how they got there, and Jax possibly using his cartoon appearance as a coping mechanism and this situation being so mundane and with the employee consequences added forcing him to act normal that his persona slipped...yeah this episode was all about masks. Which on all that, what's really interesting is that Caine had to have loaded this data as standard fast food chain practices. He just had them despite some colorful customers just doing a standard fast food industry day's jobs, the kinds of customers including the probably recording himself for reaction content cereal bowl eating guy. Rather than the cartoon or Sitcom adventures set up, most shows that will instead focus on escapism or games for that matter would add something unreal to this situation, like a surprise delivery of a (Burger matic 3000) that shoots out too many burgers causing chaos to ensue, or a delivery of mystery meat that gets over cooked and comes to life and they have to fight the food monster, or oh no, you though this was a Dinner simulator but now a spooky mist has rolled in and you are all trapped there as zombies roam outside (granted this scenario can be down with ANY enclosed space), or something like...the shift never ends, we can't just wait out the clock to end (which side note probably makes this triple shift the longest adventure they've had to do in universe that we've seen), because this place is actually in Hell and they have to figure out how to escape through a dungeon layers series of food themed sub-basements...honestly had Pomni not said no horror, this location was probably a stock location he had ready to load for a future horror adventure.
