It also works in-lore too, when you think about it! Since this game is clearly modelled after the 90s, you can safely assume it has not much memory to play around with compared to the 100GB beasts. So with that in mind, the developers for this game decided to save some memory space by recycling Caine's tongue for Bubble, considering that Bubble is seen using it more often than Caine so far, it works.

My theory (if you can call it that) is simply that he's miserable, and to avoid being miserable, he feels the need to hurt the people around him to escape his own thoughts, as a distraction but also to make them as miserable as he is. This whole episode is kinda interesting to me because Gangle and Jax are pretty much at their lowest (from what we're seen) and a big part of that is because the setting is so 'normal' and 'realistic'

It's pretty fun backstory about how Gangle talks in the "Training Video" about her aspirations when she was in the real world, wanting to make a webcomic, but her dreams were crushed by her having to work her life away in fast food. You can even see her drawing manga-like art on her drawing pad at the end. Not only is Gangle getting backstory but other characters are getting little nuggets, especially Ragatha while she's "drunk" lol.

And when looking it up, it is true and long exposure does cause stress for them as well And someone also mentioned how gangle is a representation for hidden depression, given gangle was before this episode only ever happy with her comedy mask on, and it was constantly being broken. Which allowed her to actually be sad and feel what she needed. Which the plastic mask she is wearing, she was quite literally masking her depression and any negative feelings. And because she's used to having her mask being broken, she doesn't have to put up a happy facade for long. Having her mask be easily broken was actually helping her, even when she was obviously feeling negative. She needed to be able to have that happen, without it she was actually starting to abstract because of her emotions being suppressed

Something I love about this episode is that Gangle works through her emotions by herself. She finds peace within herself on her own. No one else understands why she's acting this way. Instead of helpful words, she's met with insults. She has a brief talk with Pomni outside but almost immediately shuts it down and returns to her "normal" mask, trying to pretend like she's fine. Her constant breakdowns and doubtfulness of herself exhausts her. She realises that masking her genuine feelings is doing more harm than good. And by the end, Gangle comes to peace with how she really feels, throwing away her "normal" mask and yet still feeling free and happy with just her tragedy mask. Gangle finds happiness within herself. And then she's hit by a truck and looses all confidence she had in that brief moment. God I love this show.

I have a theory that Jax is the first person to be trapped in the Digital Circus. For one, he specifically said that Kinger was "supposedly been here the longest" and the fact that he said 'supposedly' is a strange choice, and in this episode, we see a license plate that reads Jax001, like the license plates where designed to be based of an internal id associated with the individual person in the game. And if he is the first person to go in the digital circus, it would explain why he is such a dick as he would have been in their for so long that he has completely detached himself from the NPCs and the sorties because he has experienced so many that he no longer cares.

so it seems like Gangle has been given Cain-level control over just the the spudsy's domain(trapping jax in the training room as an example), and the power-dynamic over the other members of the circus immediately came out when Gangle was exercising their authority as shift manager. Working theory: Cain is actually just a member of the circus trapped in there but Stanford prison experiment style was given the power to alter the reality, and so he is by default on another level of authority of the others. Could Bubble be the mastermind?
