Why was the plastic so over engineered? Seems like unnecessary cost in producing the mold and product.

Hey RJ, thanks for the question. Like we pointed out in the video, a lot of thinking went into this design. This is more than just a mere plastic and it needs to last 25 years on a roof with UV exposure. We strive to make products that are fully capable and dependable over their lifetime.

@@user-dr2pg8fk2i Hey again, RJ. We don't see this design being overly complex. Think of it like a basket that holds your ballast on the roof. The gaps in the walls of the chassis allow for water drainage and, because this is a molded product, we are also able to integrate many other features directly into it. Other ballast products are usually metal with many extra parts and steps. Our material has been tested to be very stable and able to handle the long-term conditions on a commercial roof.
