Hi again. Seeing you guys wield that old chain falls reminds me of a "part time job I had back in the late 1950's. " My best friend and I were hooked up with SEARS installing their rebuilt flathead engines. We had an old chain fall, three 20 ft (aprox) saplings chained together at the top, and dragged them behind my 1939 sedan of my 1940 ($25.00 purchase) coupe. I would remove hood, as well as all hookups on the top. He at about 125 lbs could slide under the car, unhook exhaust etc. and we could pull/switch engines. For this we got $25.00 from the SEARS store. That went a lot longer than now! Great episode as always.

One very neat roadster. It sounds wonderful. The sound reminds me of my flathead V8 60 roadster from High School. I wish I still had that car. Flatheads just have that sound that is unique.

@genemounce8302 I've had people say it was better old school or that i have a Frankenstein. The way I see it, it's a mix of original parts, matched with new or different hot rod upgrades. I have a 32 with a mustang II front end with a 9 inch in the rear. 350 with 700 r. If you seen it, I don't think you'd say it. Have a good cup of joe friend.

Looks like you "ruined" it perfectly ! Lol . Poor Steve , leaning down to check the gauges when it started & ran , & Matt hitting the throttle . Vroom , vroom , cough , cough , cough . Lmao ! Ah the smell of V8 , with open headers . Kind of brings a tear to the eye , eh ? Might be the fumes too . More spare parts , but the modifications were not so drastic on this car . Nice example of how it was done , back in the day .

Not sure what rad you're using but you're probably gonna want to get a smaller belt. That alternator sitting pretty high in the slot and when you mount the fan it will be close to the top tank.

@@IronTrapGarage I love the genny look too, especially on the early 21 stud with a fan mounted but there's a reason PowerGen didn't come out with that setup for several years. I think the bracket still has mounting issues. I finally relented and went with a black painted ac Delco alternator and speedway pulley, but with a shop made bracket which is stronger than ones available.

Hey guys. I have a bone stock 1936 Chevy sedan with the 206.8 inline 6! She runs and drives perfectly! But I would like to bump up the power while still keeping the same drive line and 3 speed. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Skip ahead a couple generations to a non-babbit engine and add a turbo to it. Power when you need it but mileage when you dont and all in a Chevy 6 so you know it fits.

It will add some heat to the box but won’t hurt anything. All Flathead v8 early fords with side steer have this clearance issue
