My father's GG grandmother was Mohawk of the Bear Clan. Its on her death certificate. She lived because of who she married. Thank you, your video paints quite a picture for me. Im very sad also because i live in Pennsylvania and almost every town has a massacre story to sugar coat the violence.

EVERY five to six years, a plague came which wiped out the crops..... Cicadas spend (presently) 7 or 13 years under ground feeding from sap that drips from the root of trees. Then all at once, they emerge and die. I presune they emerge after having just bred a new generation under ground. Scientists have never been able to solve WHY they emerge. I wonder if their emergence and the cyclical famine that the Natives experience could all be tied together.

​@@theotherstatesofamericahis5212 Possible butterfly effect? Logging and beaver trapping would affect wood. (Haha, I'm punny. ) Cicadas eat tree sap under ground. Their sap is affected by tree changes. They emerge causing pestilence, killing the people who cut down the trees and killed the Beaver?🧐 OR..... I've been binging this series WAY too long and I broke my brain. 😂

Hi, Ive tried googling the Pitu tribe or nation, mentioned here. Fleeing the Iroquois, cant find them. How do you spell the name? Also can i ask, when the Iroquois started to bring home many captives to boost their numbers, did they all have to go thru the gauntlet/torture rituals? Thanks Brian
